RE: The CrusinSusan Lo-Tech Build: Got The Van - E350 Hi-Top

Hey that's something. Thanks for all the information.
I don't know about the insulation...at least I won't be doing that for now...but I can already see how the sound muffling would be nice. Plus, I want to keep in mind that this rig will be a daily driver as well as a hauler, so I want to keep things simple and removeable (this idea doesn't apply to the insulation, but rather to other things).
For instance, (you'll see I've been pondering this) I've picked up one of these dog tubs (keep the jokes to a minimum folks), and plan to use it as a shower pan, having a hula-hoop curtain rod and curtain attached to it, so it all just pops up when I need it. That, along with a solar shower bag on the roof (through a hole that will be plugged when not in use) will be my shower. This is easy to stow against a wall, and yet easy to unfurl...indoors or out. The toilet will be built on a box that will house my current theraford portable holding tank (cuz I have it) and the tank will be accessed from the outside for dumping, and lined with a shower liner, and have ventilation too.
What I'd really like to find though, is a SHUB shower door to enclose the toilet/bathroom. One that is not see-through, and is 3 sided and doesn't cost and arm and a leg, but I guess I'll go with a pleated door, again, 3 sides (1 in front to enter, and 2 on the sides attached to the wall). Details to follow on that idea. Again, this is all in the spirit of easy removal. So, we'll see about it all.
I'm going to keep the idea of a 10 gallon water container above the sink and a simple drain/catchment system below (I'd like to keep the critters away from my rig, and my concern is that kitchen water may attract them. Been there. Done that. No thank you. lol)
And the Liftco Dual Twin still has first place for a bed system for me....again, the fold-away idea is what I seek.
As far as I can think, everything else is gravy. I have a portable genny. I have a terrific solar light. I have a TV/DVD player that is portable enough. I have an antenna. In two years on the road, I never used my heat, and only used the ac rarely...a fan should do me fine.
I'm rarely inside....I'll be kayaking, hiking, biking, and only cook at dinner time and that will mostly be outdoors too. If not full-timing, I figure there is very little I need, since my plan is to escape to nature.
I'm getting psyched about all this!
Thanks again.
