RE: Ohio Valley TC Weekend - East Harbor 5/14/10

Dan, I heard Erie is frozen over?? No more lake effect snow??
Looks like we're getting a good group together.
It's as far as I can see from the bay...

RE: Ohio Valley TC Weekend - East Harbor 5/14/10

Guy, yes every year, & sometimes in the fall too.
It looks like I'll even bring the Lance this year, instead of my "motorhouse".
Dan, snow drift??? You don't keep her inside???? :)
It's keep outside Chuck.. If you want to come up and help me roll it on its side we can try and push it in the garage. I did think about removing the air conditioner to get it to fit, than I remembered the 100+ temps in Houston..

I'd just tape a picture of a 1 ton on the side and go camping.

RE: Camper Theft

On a serious note:
Surpilla RV Akron, Oh (Camping World) has 1 Lance TC class(RV) listed on the recovery wire.. 6MoPD/Active/VLCU/Noncontract Agent/Thur 12/17/09
They might have a problem figuring out how to haul.
Could be looking for info?

RE: Camper Theft

Well thought out plan...
You should be on alert, Ohio is a lot closer to Michigan than Alabama is. :)

I can supply a map
Could be very entertaining.

RE: TC to 5th wheel

We went with a Raptor 5er about 2 years ago.. It was to be used when we wanted to haul the toys and take other family members along.. The first year we used the Lance about 80% of the time for our normal outings. This year, sorry to say, we only had the Lance out twice. I've hauled the 5er 3 times from Ohio to Texas and it sure is nice to be followed by a hotel room.

RE: Question for people running 19.5 tires.

I had the opportunity a few years ago to be at Rickson when my new 19.5 Tires were mounted. They went through 6 tires to get 4 that they were happy with and could do a match balance. It was explained to me that not a whole lot of care goes into making the "truck" tires and to be able to get a good ride, sorting tires, at Rickson, is very common. They do this on every set they send out. I'm not sure how many other shops do this.. I was very happy with the tires for 50K miles but still ended up getting the dually bug.

RE: Toyhauler Truck Camper?

It's factory... They were a novelty for a year or two. The problem was you had to leave your bike or 4 wheeler out at night.. The smell inside after fuel leaks and mud and everything else killed this idea pretty quick. The price they list is pretty good.. they were pretty expensive.
Notice the custom tie downs !!! Looks like they had to take the front jacks off to load it on the dually.. must have used a tow motor.

RE: Why I love our TC

We were attacked by bugs crossing the bay bridge (great Lakes)..
It took 2 days to get them off the truck and camper.. At first we thought it was starting to rain.
Someone here posted about using fabric softener sheets on the camper. Last time we got back, I wet down the camper, wet down a softener sheet, swirled in circles lightly. I was amazed at how quickly and easily the blots that were formerly insects came off.
These were bugs sent by Satin.. They left black stains everywhere.. We used the fabric softener to get most off.. Tryed bug and tar remover.. When I got back home I used thinner to get the rest off.

RE: Why I love our TC

Nice truck; Are you satisfied with buying a SB dually? I love Ohio, I lived in Cleveland until my dad got the wander lust and moved us west.:C
Very Satisfied. We also haul a Raptor 5er.. It works gr8. I can haul anything I ever need to haul and still fit in a garage.

Why I love our TC

I'm able to get here at least 2 times a year... Galveston Island will always be home, even if I have to live 1,300 miles away in Ohio.
