RE: Morryde

After being beat up by the front end on my '01' winnebago 35 foot on an F53. I had mor-ride installed on the front end, made all the difference in the world with the ride. However, it DID decrease front end clearance, like when driving into a service station, etc., raised parking sites, etc. All in all, the difference was more than worth any other hassle.

RE: Rain in RGV

Have no fear, when it quits raining, you probably won't see another drop for MONTHS.
Our first year here, 02, it rained 7 straight days. We were set to head to Arizona, but everyone said to wait a few days. We did, and that was the last rain of the whole winter. Texas had been under severe drought for a long time. I think before Xmas, we'll be high and dry again, and then for the rest of the winter

RE: Guidance on used RV to tow 10,000 race car trailer

Ever think of looking at a converted Greyhound? Older ones are available from the 10-15G price range. With the proper hitch, you'll be okay, and the Diesel will do you fine, and probably last a lot longer than a gasser. The frames are time tested, and so are the running gears. Just something to think about

RE: Winter in texas

We've wintered in Harlingen, (30 miles north of Brownsville) for eight years. The number of cold days, I can count on one hand. Maybe a couple of cool weeks in late Jan or Feb. Got here Oct 25, was in 90's, mid 80's last two weeks. Beats anything we've seen, and we've done Florida and Arizona. Breezy? Maybe, but nothing serious. Helps cool the stiffling heat. By the way, My ideal winter temp is about 65, day and nite. Summers, not over 75 unless an A/C is nearby.
If you're bored here, it's totally by choice, just too many things going on 7 days a week

RE: Levels on Gauges Still Reading 1/2 Full

After seven years of fulltiming, I find the best cure is NEVER dump less than half a tank of black water. Add fresh water to the black tank if necessary.
While I prep the rig to drain tanks, the bride is busy filling the toilet with fresh water. The instant I have the black water drained, she drains the toilet, and five gallons of water splashes through the three inch hole, and splashes the sides of the black tank, removing any residue. If necessary, we'll dump a second potty full. Then I close the black valve, and she dumps another full potty into the black tank, adding Aqua-Chem, or a cup of vinegar. Our tanks have always worked flawless once we started using that procedure.
Grey water has never been a problem, since that valve is usually open in CG's with full hookups, and there's usually always soap in the tank when rough camping anyway.
