RE: Replacing the truck due to cell phones

I think I would have two or three shops check it out. I don't trust adjusters, they are working for the insurance company not you. Hope all works out for you, glad you weren't hurt.

RE: No Power through shore plug

what breaker are you talking about? garage or camper? check them both. My 2007 adventure 80W doesn't have a GFI inside the camper only one out side.

RE: Moab - Where to stay

Canyon Land will work great for you, you can walk to everything. We stay there every year on our annual Moab trip. Have fun. Hope you go wheeling with some one when you do the trails, if you do trails. It can be unforgiving in the desert if you break down and are alone.

RE: Happijac rust! (pics)

I took mine off and sanded and cleaned them up, I then painted them with bead liner and after that I finished them off with couple coats of white duplicator. they are holding up well.

RE: leak in extended cabover

check your marker lights too. water can get in through the lens if it's cracked or behind the light if the caulk is bad.

RE: Should I try to mount the camper brackets myself?

yes the drop in liners are slick and move around in the bed. It's the moving around that will cause the paint in the bed to disappear, plus I agree with others that the liner will move around even with the weight of the camper on it.

RE: Should I try to mount the camper brackets myself?

The liner sliding around will remove the paint in the truck bed. I've seen this many times in rigs that has had a liner in it for any length of time.

RE: Flat towing versus trailering, advantages/disadvantages?

flat towing with or with out brake is a state law thing. In Washington State if the rig your flat towing is over 3000 lbs. you are required to have brakes. On double axle car trailers you must have brakes on both axles I believe. I'm not sure (in WA.) what the requirement are on a set up like John&Angela's.

RE: Flat towing versus trailering, advantages/disadvantages?

daveshan has it covered pretty well. I flat tow only when traveling close to home. I trailer when traveling a long distance and when wheeling the jeep is involved I trailer all the time. The trailer also make a good deck at camp when the weather is damp. If I were choosing one set up between the two, I would go with trailering.

RE: hellwig rear sway bar

This older tc'er (66yrs. old) isn't reluctant to buy online. I buy on trusted sights and at the best price. I saved over $100 by shopping around. To each there own.

RE: Arctic Fox 990 owners

the info on the company weight chart says it weighs 3010 lbs. dry. wonder why the chart on there brochure from the rv show states 3010 lbs. dry, it must not have any options included.??????

RE: Towing with Jeep on trailer

Yep, been doing it for many years. The trailer is 18 foot, trailer and Jeep are about 6000 lbs. No problems, tows great. Steel trailer and wood deck, 3500 lb. axles and electric brakes.
