RE: Dump into residential septic system?

I would make sure that the chemical you use in your trailer is compatible with a septic system, that is all I use no matter what.

RE: 37 or 45 degree flare tool for LPG connection?

the 37* is used for AN fitting and use a nut with a sleeve the goes over the flare. Use a lot with Stainless brake line. Most all others that are not AN fitting use the 45* ED

RE: Water Hoses

As above, did you try drinking from hose directly? All (?) RV's use plastic pipe for internal plumbing. Changing hose will not help that.
X2 Sounds more like it's in the tt's plumbing.
I needed an extra 25 feet and bought a walley hose and the water tasted bad, and did not b4 the new hose we ran water through it for a while and then it was fine. ED
but the hose is stiff and never the quality of the other hoses I have

RE: Sway Control adj.

if the slide bar is at the max extended postion and you back up against that angle you can bend the bar.
Why would backing up be any different than going forwards?
All a friction control does is slide in and out. It does the same thing whether going forwards or backwards. If it can be bent by going backwards then it can be bent when going forwards.
I think what they are getting at is most peoples vehicles can turn sharper while backing up my shortbed dodge diesel will probably hit the trailer if I turn to sharp in a u turn. but I never take it off till I am removing the truck all you have to do is loosen it up and with the hitch on see what time of turning you have available with the truck disconnected I would hit the trailer b4 I would damage the sway control. RE: ScanGauge Volt meter - OK to jump around?

on my dodge diesel it sits still. pretty constant. don't think you have a real problem though mine is just a 99 dodge diesel not a motor home and there maybe load changes on the battery which cause the change in charging.

RE: Tire valve stems - any suggestions?

All my trailers have the high pressure (100 psi) snap ins like OEM on our 2500/3500 trucks. Dragging a trailer around constructon site or in a pasture/fields has broken to many metal valve stems some years back so I don't/won't use them. Just be careful when driving on certain type of frozen slush as I have broken metal stem in those conditons also on equipment trailers. They might be fine on a RV as they may not travel in those type places or conditions.
you can break a steel stem on a rock or something the rubber will bend. But the rubber seem to crack some also.

RE: HOT ROD - WATER HEATER

just a guess that it would be near 20 ohms or so BUT if it were bad it would be an obvious ZERO ohms and it would not hurt to check the ohms to ground should be zero.

RE: Spark Arrestor clean out

If you can safely use a propane torch, try heating the plug before trying to loosen it.
if it is visable you might use the same propane torh to heat it red hot let cool a little and tap it to clean a break free the carbon.

RE: Dometic AC help please

I would guess you may have a bad run capacitor in a metal case, check for low voltage first I t would be a good idea to maybe add a hard start kit for the compressor. it will add a start capacitor for a little extra starting torque. You can do that yourself. usually two wire the go directly on the old or new run cap. Ed

RE: DirecTV- can it really be this easy??

the Direct people told me that the tilt up will be the same or a degree up as we travel north from our home with in 450 miles. then I leave it set for us at 49* and then I can pan the sky for the sat. signal. I always start with MY TRIPOD STAND VERTICAL IN ALL DIRECTIONS then the numbers on the dish apply. Do it all the time. ED
