RE: Looking at new 5r

Thanks all, again, keeping our fingers crossed for financing and will go from there! The next closest dealer is about 3 1/2 hours away but would do it if necessary. Also looking into a couple of online financing sources and will see what happens there. I hate to let this deal go as it keeps payments where we need them plus is over $10k less than the MSRP and the unit we are looking at is pretty well option loaded.

RE: Looking at new 5r

Good to hear, like I said, I was impressed as my original choice was a Wildcat 30LOFT. Our local dealer is NOT willing to deal on the Wildcat and I refuse to pay $10,000 more for it than what I could get it for if I was willing to drive to RV Wholesalers and buy it there. The local dealer for the Heartland Sundance is apparently going out of business and has a smoking deal on the Sundance models they have still in stock so.....any ideas for online financing? Our credit is average and clean but not high enough for what the local banks want in order to deal with us. Anyone used any online sources that came through for them?

RE: Looking at new 5r

Well, we went back to the dealer with the Keystone Challenger and also the Heartland Sundance. Both units are brand new but they are 2008 models which is fine by me. However, after really just sitting in them and taking a lot more detailed look, the Challenger is literally falling apart. Molding is coming off everywhere, screws are pulling out, etc. while the Sundance is still solid as a rock. Our choice is made and at this point it comes down to the finicky financing companies. Keeping our fingers crossed!

Looking at new 5r

The kids are now 2 and 4 and the wife and I have finally come to the realization that if we are to continue our family camping tradition, it is going to have to come with a change into a bigger RV. We still love our Lance pickup camper but we are packed to the seams and we are just plain out of room. We are looking at several new 5th wheels including a Keystone Cougar bunk model, a Keystone Challenger bunk model and one that we really like is a Sundance by Heartland RV. I had never even heard of these until recently but am really impressed so far with construction quality and attention to detail. We are looking at 2 models, both with rear bunks/loft options. Anyone else out there have a Heartland Sundance and if so, what has your opinion been after owning and using it for a while?

Any other ideas? Where to buy new Dinosaur board at cheaper price?

RE: Dometic RM3663 Refrigerator Problem

The burner tube and all working parts seem to be fine. I am not sure how to inspect the voltage as I am electrically challenged - straight hair so I avoid curls at all costs! lol funny thing is I played around with it last night and after i plugged it in to AC and ran it for a while on AC, now it will kick over to gas on the auto feature and run fine with no shutdowns. Before it would light on gas and by the time I could out of the camper and look at working parts, it would have a loud click and flame out, check light on. Can go back into the camper, turn power off and then power on, and do same thing. Replaced the board 3 years ago with a Dino as it was basically doing the same thing and was told then that the Dometic boards werent very reliable. I think Chris was in on that same post. The only thing that changed was I ran a propane tank clear dry the other day and had to start on a new bottle. All other systems (stove, genset, furnace) picked up fine on the new bottle. If it is the board, where is cheapest place to order new Dino board?

Dometic RM3663 Refrigerator Problem

I have a Dometic RM3663 Royale model refrigerator. I had to replace the circuit board on it about 3 summers ago because the check light kept coming on and it would not stay working on propane. I preplaced it with a Dinosaur Electronics Micro P711 and it has worked like a champ until this weekend. We were up camping and I fought the thing the whole weekend trying to keep it running long enough to keep things cold. It almost acts the same as it did 3 years ago when I replaced the board. Is it time for a another new board? Flu and flame all look good and it worked fine over the 4th of July for 5 days and on AC since. Then acted up Friday night. Any input?
