RE: Branson, MO RV Parks

The KOA campground you stayed at has closed and they moved to a another location very close to the down town and the shows. We stayed there in July and the people running the campground are very nice. ABC is nice too, but farther out from the town.

RE: Camprouunds near Niagra Falls

We visit Niagara Falls at least once a year and we always stay at the KOA Lundy's Lane, Canadian side. This KOA is corpoate owned and is kept up to the highest standards.
We have seen most of the other campgrounds and we prefer the KOA.

I 77 from I 64 to I 81 through Jefferson National Forest

We will be travelling from Ontario to Myrtle Beach in March and Streets and Trips shows this as part of the route. We have previously driven the section from Ontario down to I 64, but was wondering what the roads are like through this National Forest. Understand that some of the routes through the mountains here can be difficult.
Thanks for any input.

RE: Looking for info on Forest River Georgetown MHs

We have a 2003 Georgetown and it has and is a great MH for us. It is a mid entry model and we have to expect that the finishes will reflect that. We would buy another Georgetown any day. We know many people who also have Georgetowns and they too are happy with their units.

RE: Update on Branson RV Parks

We were in Branson in early July with a group of 15 RV's and we stayed at the KOA. Its clsoe to the action and ths site is very nice, and the people were so helpfull including getting tickets for all the various shows our group took in, either individually or as a group.
Would highly recommend it. ABC is nice as well, but its not that close to the action.

RE: Cambridge, Ontario CGs, RV parks

The Churchill Park thing can be good or bad. We have friends that stay there regularly, but the last two stays were not good for them. Remember there is no management on site and noisey neighbours or partying can be a pain if you are trying to get a good night sleep. They will only park there now if they are with another couple so there are two RV's camping together for security.

RE: camping near Kingston Ontario

We enjoy camping at Niagara Falls as lots for the kids to see and do there. NF would be within your range. Also have MarineLand and other amusement areas. Lots of sight seeing can be done as well.
It depends on what type of facilities you are looking for, Full service RV resort? Provincial parks with lots of trees? Do you enjoy the beaches?
Need more info.

RE: camping near Kingston Ontario

We have stayed ar Rideau Acres a few times when in the Kingston area. It is a large campground with many seasonal sites and is on a nice river. There is a KOA there that we have never visited, but it is supposed to be nice too.
We saw the changing of the Guard at the Fortress there.
Nice town and close to the 1000 Islands.

RE: Border and tolls booths in a Class A

Our funny question asked by the border guard at St Stephen NB -Calais Maine was" How long have you been in Canada??" She knew that we were Canadian as she had already asked that. The only answer I could come up with was that the last time we were in the US was two months previously.
We thought that was a question that could have led to many answers. LOL
The last time we came back to Canada through the Buffalo Peace Bridge there was a 20 car line up for all the car lanes at Canada Customs and the person directing traffic showed us to go to the Bus lane which was empty. We figured we were in for a search as there was no one there to greet us. Within 30 seconds a guard came out and asked the regular questions and we were gone. Bet we save 30 minutes compared to the car lanes.
One never knows.LOL

RE: Border and tolls booths in a Class A

When we entered the US from New Brunswick at Calais Maine, they opened an lane on the left just for us, as the station there is very tight and the trucks make a sharp right and go inside a building for whatever. Since we were not at an official booth, the guard asked if she could come in the side door and we opened it and she checked the wash room. She entered the info in the computer and came back. We had a cat on board and she was very careful to make sure our cat did not make an escape. Very nice person.
Two days later entering Canada at Ogdensburg as we approached the car lanes, the agent saw us coming and signaled us to to to the far right where there was an opening in the barricade and no roof over the lanes. She asked a couple of questions, went to check computer, came back and told us to have a nice day.
As mentioned, no sunglasses, one person answer only questions asked and no jokes.

RE: Border and tolls booths in a Class A

We just passed over to Canada at Ogdensburg last week. The car lines there are not high enough for RV's. As we approached they directed us to the far right where there was no cover over the top.Easy crossing for us. We entered the US at Calais Maine and there too we were directed to an outside lane, not the truck lane though.

RE: Cambridge, Ontario CGs, RV parks

Lots to see and do in the area and we also recommend Green Acre if you want a full service campground. Next to Green Acre is Laurel Creek Conservation area which has sites with water and electric and is similar to Pinehurst Conservation area as far as facilities.
