RE: Water pump issue while de-winterizing. Input needed.

Try hooking the hose back on the city water inlet and run some water through it. Then turn the hose off and relieve the pressure, then remove the hose and see if that helps. Some times the valve just comes unseated and you can re-seat it this way.

RE: Do you use cell phones while backing into campsite?

My wife sits in the truck with me so I don't have to worry about her being in the way. I have two mirrors and a backup camera. So far that is all I need.
Yep thats the way we do it. Except I dont have a backup cam.
Us too.... Besides, most of the places we camp have no cell coverage.

RE: BACKING SUGGESTIONS

I've said it before (in this post even) and I'll say it again... You NEED to be comfortable and efficient at backing the truck into a small area on it's own before you can get good at backing the trailer in....
About 90% of parking I do while driving my truck is done in smallish spaces due to my truck being my daily driver... And usually I BACK in.... Just easier for me... But maybe I just think backwards...
Another tip I have is to use your power mirrors to pan and watch your progress...
Didn't take long for me to figure it out... And I'm pretty dense....

RE: BACKING SUGGESTIONS

My wife just sits in the passengers seat until I tell her it's time to come out. I gave up on her helping me many years ago.
My best tip I can give is that you need to feel comfortable backing your TV up solo... Once you get that nailed THEN work on backing up with the TT.

RE: Trailer Bounce

I strongly believe that the reason new trailers bounce like this is because the stab jacks are not located in the proper position... Read the BAL scissor jack installation manual HEREand you will see that the proper installation location is NOT on the corners where most are installed.
Having said that I just bought a new set of 4 BAL's and I am planning on mounting them in the corners because it's the easiest way to replace the******jacks that came on my trailer... Then I'm going to take the 4 I take off and make 2 good ones that I will mount just in front of the axles.

RE: Setups with queen bed and couch?

One thing I wouldn't like about the first one you posted is the "cave bed" as my wife calls it. I'd take a look at one of these.

RE: How much sway is normal - Reese dual cam round bars @ 60mph?

It's the dual cam (see image - that was before we "fixed" the set up).
http://imgur.com/Av2Ki link
OK.... Looking at that pic I have to ask.... Is the ball still that high after you "fixed" it?
The first step in setting up a dual cam is to level the trailer on level ground... Then back the TV up to it, also on the SAME level ground, and set the height of the ball as close as you can get to the height of the coupler. If you need to choose between too high or too low, go too low.
It looks to me like your basic problem (if there really is a problem) is too little tongue weight. You can adjust that thing all you want to... If you don't have enough tongue weight you will still have an issue.

RE: new battery rack

One of the most common battery configurations in the trucks where I work is 3-12V.
And it is an unbalanced setup, affecting batteries life, unless they have an extra pair of terminal posts separately from those 3 batteries. Without that extra pair of terminals you can't balance an odd number of batteries.
PS: In case if it wasn't clear, this is what I'm talking about, see the 3rd diagram.
I don't design 'em or spec 'em.... I just help build 'em...

RE: Tires in Idaho or Montana?

Another vote for Les Schwab... Every vehicle I own right now including the TT and the '52 IH Cub tractor have LS tires on.... The Cub only has them on the back, but once it needs front it'll have them there as well

Bad ground, loose connection in either the socket or plug would be my first place to look. Could also be a bad plug or socket.

RE: changeing from 225/15 to 235/16

The math I see in several posts is not correct. Although you do take the difference in diameters and divide it by 2 to see how much larger a single tire is - since you have two tires - front and back both closer together you do not divide by two. If the existing is 28" and the new 31.5" they will be 3.5" closer together.
This is correct....
BTW... My "storage neighbor" put over sized LR E truck tires on his 5er and I noticed that they were pretty close to one another right after he did it. Like, about 1-1/2". He said they only rub when he's trying to get into tight places and there is no way he can put his scissor type chocks in between.
BTW... In order to REALLY tell you need the "aspect ratio" of the tire... In other words you need to know the number behind the 225/215. It should be 75 or 85... Or something else.
Metric sized tires are easy... For example... The 235 is the width of the tread in millimeters.... The 85 is the aspect ratio, or the percentage of the width to determine the height of the side wall. SO a 235 85 tire has a side wall height of (235 X .85) 199.75MM. To find the diameter of the tire you double that sidewall size to 399.5MM... Then you add the rim size of 16" (16 X 25.4) which is 406.4MM and you end up with a total diameter of 805.9... Divide that by 25.4 to get to inches and you get 31.728".
See...I told you it was easy....
