RE: Whazoo's trip to the Mountains of the Moon with Ocotillians

Wow Dave, another gem. I meant to read this a few days ago but I was listening to a little Coltrane and got sidetracked. I would rail against your blatant punning but it would just atrack more. I usually gauge the quality of your trip reports by the Puns per picture ratio, so I'll just say grate post. Thanks a bunch.

RE: Instead of Our Regularly Scheduled Trip Report....

Eric, It's always a good day when a SSS report pops up on RV.NET. Having passed on a trip up Cottonwood Canyon Road this past spring I'm looking forward to reading about yours. Thanks. By the way, I love the layout of your BLOG. Very well done. Ted

RE: New TC'er-Boondocking, Water, Energy, Warranty, Theft

Regarding manuals, most are available on the internet as PDF files that you can store on your laptop. Saves having to carry a bunch of manuals around with you. Factory service manuals are often available too. Just go to the individual manufacturer's websites.

RE: Solar in winter / east coast ~ west coast

$1200.00 sounds awfully high for 130 watts.

RE: Question / Lighthouse

Cape Blanco State Park on the coast of Oregon has a great campground and it's about a 10 minute walk to the light. You can actually go up into the light chamber at the lighthouse.

RE: Wandering up the coast of Maine

Hi Anne, Cobscook SP, great place. We're staying in site #7 for a week in August. We saw some amazing sunrises there last year. Good to see you OTRA. Ted

RE: Driving Eastern Canada (Any Suggestions)

If you are interested in history Fort Louisbourg and Port Royal, Both National Historic Sites, as well as the town of Annapolis Royal are wonderful. All are in Nova Scotia.

RE: Camelback Bladders

I do something completely different and it's worked great for 10 years. When I get back from a hike I drain the bladder, then completely fill it with fresh water (no air space at all). If I hike again within a week I just use it as is, otherwise I drain and refill it before I go. I do clean the bite valve with bleach now and then.
