RE: Picture this one in your head

I think the Ridgeline could safely tow a pop up but I think the limit is 5,000#.

Picture this one in your head

Sunday heading up the Maine Turnpike I came across a Honda Ridgeline towing about a 30 foot 10 or so year old trailer with no WD, just a normal ball hitch. The 2 together made a nice "V" and I am not sure how the front wheels were still on the ground. Hope they made it to where they were going without hurting anyone.

RE: Ran Out Of Propane Already?

I say it is the heat, with bunk ends you have a lot of heat loss. In my tent trailer days I have gone through a 20# tank in a night with the heat running.

RE: Honey Wagon Help Needed!

If they do not have a sewer site, I don't camp there, that is my rule.

RE: Do you use cell phones while backing into campsite?

My son gives good hand signals and as long as we are backing to the left I can usually see what I need to. The one time we had to back to the right leaving me to see nothing in the dark was a little more dificult, might give the phone a try.

RE: Help newbie with converter questions please

Sorry I cannot help, never heard a noise from mine and frankly did not know it had a fan in it.

RE: Outside kitchen question

Love the outside fridge, one of the great things about the outdoor kitchen. It is a dorm type electric only fridge so my guess it is the generator or bring a cooler if you do not have electric.

RE: Outdoor Kitchen Question

Just to up date a few things or answer questions, I have a North Trail 30 QOK, love it. It has 2 grey tanks and a black tank. The black tank and one grey tank are no different than any other trailer with one connection pipe. We have a second 37 gallon grey tank for the outdoor kitchen sink, this has a separate sewer connection, so I have one connection in front of the wheels and one behind it. We use the kitchen all the time, in fact have only used the microwave one and have not used the stove or oven inside. We have a quick connect on the gas grill and set up a colmen 2 burner on the kitchen arm/counter. The fridge is great, would never get rid of it, we start with mostly drinks in there but end up using it for meats and various things so nothing gets left out in the heat while we are cooking. The TV comes in handy, nice to watch the news while cooking breakfast or watch the game later in the day. Sink is great, do most of the dishes there so we do not have to bring them inside. Also like the 2nd door our trailer has that leads to the bathroom so we are never directly in the trailer.

RE: Outdoor Kitchen Mod?

There is no way to create what comes cut into the trailer with an outside kitchen but, if you want one, I suggest you pick up a portable outdoor kitchen at a camping store, get a table, chuck box, college room refridgerator, TV coleman stove etc and set one up next to youtr camper each trip. Should not take long to do and will get you the same result.

RE: Seasonal Sewer Connect

For one thing it looks nicer, for another it last forever. We had it for 11 years, no grey tank, just a direct pipe and the black tank with the dump handle. Used a rubber connector made to connect the PVC to the trailer connections and the other end fit snuggly into the sewer hole.

RE: looking for tt with outdoor kitchen & separate bathroom door

We looked at them all, all that we could find, the Outback, Palominos, Bullets, Prime Times and on and on, the one we fell in love with is the Heartland North Trail 30QOK. We have looked even since buying it and cannot find anything that we wished we had. Good luck in your search.

RE: central Vermont camping

We stayed at the KOA last year and it was great, loved the place and the area is real nice. Take a nice drive along route 4 up to Rutland.

RE: Teenager At Home and RVing

The funny thing to me is the "she has a peermit and a car" don't you need a license to dry, that is what is needed in our state. When a teen has a permit and there is a car, that is when the keys get hidden. Maybe she will not party but once the boyfriend shows up, anything goes.

RE: RV Expenses

Did not see it mentioned but might of missed it, depending on the state yearly registration fees as well as excise tax.

RE: Tank sensors?

Leave your grey tank open until just before you plan on dumping your black tank, close it the morning of or night before. The grey tank could fill daily but the black tank will be 3-5 days. I have a 2nd grey tank and when that fills, it has a separate dump system so it takes a little work.

RE: Mileage Wierdness

Makes sense to me, the gains you get going down hill far out weight the loses you get going up hill. In my wifes car, we get about 26 mpg on average, the gage drops to under 20 mpg when going up hill but will pin out at 60 mpg when going down hill (we have a gage that is instant all the time). When on flat ground, the truck has to work all the time thus the gas milage is less. My daughter learned this in a way when she left New England and all the hills and went to Ohio where everything is flat, she runs cross country and found it a lot more difficult to run out there, she never had a down hill to run to regain her breath or momentum.

RE: Hot water heater

I think all are a little different. I have the switch on the heater fior the electric but also have a switch inside for the electric, both need to be on. I have a second switch inside which is for the propane.

RE: Outdoor Kitchen Question

Our outside kitchen sink has a 37 gallon tank and it's own drain separate from the black tank/main grey water tank.
