RE: Filling Fresh Water Holding Tank

Are you using a water fill adapter to get the water in?
http://tweetys.com/ProductImages/rv_freshwater/888821.jpg
Otherwise I agree there is something wrong with the vent or fill tube.
I'm using something like that... one of those adapters that is for cleaning out the hot water tank.

Filling Fresh Water Holding Tank

When filling the tank after only a small amount of water fills, water starts coming back up the fill hose.
Any ideas how to remedy this?
Thanks Eh!

RE: Mission to Kerrville

US281 to Alice
TX44 to Freer
TX16 to Jourdanton
TX173 to Kerrville.
This is nice leisure drive that you can make good time.
It completely avoids SAT and all the residual traffic that overloads all the Interstates in SAT coming out of Mexico.
Thanks for the info... did the trip yesterday... worked well.

RE: Newbie to RVing in North America

Public transportation in North America is very lacking compared to other regions, like Europe. Some cities have very good services for the core area but many don't. Remote service is very lacking.

RE: Route to Big Bend Nat'l Park

CORRECTED THE RV PARK IN TERLINGUA>>>>>>>
We did that route a year ago in our 5er... good roads all the way with some slow areas going through towns.
We found a wonderful park for an overnight stay in Crystal City:http://www.triplerresort.com/
To visit Big Bend, we stayed here at Terlingua: http://camprate.com/c/campground/2210/BigBendMotorInnandRVCampgound.html
Have a great trip! Eh!

RE: Campground etiquette

Dogs constantly barking throughout the day while you are sitting outside trying to relax. Then they are barking again at 6:00 in the morning when you are trying to sleep in.
And some leave the dogs loose to chase pedestrians & cyclists.... and urinating on your site... and left alone for the day while the owners are out & the dogs yap-yap-yap... and...............

RE: Dimplex Electric Fireplace

I have a problem with mine. The thermostat cuts out too early on my unit. Also from the outset there is a humming noise on initial startup.
Dimplex has sent me a replacement heat element & I'll be contacting a local service rep today for the install.
This is being done at Dimplex's cost.
No muss/no fuss.... have your model# & serial# when you call.

RE: Moving to 5th wheel

For 30+ years we've driven motorhomes but have now decided to switch to a fiver. (We use it to sit in Fl for 6 months.) We know we want a 36/37', washer/dryer, and hopefully other amenities (convection oven, hydraulic leveling, power awning). For those of you who have spent time in 5th wheels, what else would you consider essential? I'm curious about the need for 2 ACs and if a fireplace really serves as a source of heat. Thanks for your help.
We are 'most timers' spending 6 colder months in the southern US (currently in Mission Texas) and the warmer months in Canada.
Regarding the A/C: we have not needed 2 units & very rarely use the single one. Get dual pane windows as that seems to help keep the 5er cooler along with good vent fans.
The fireplace does help with keeping the floor in the living area warm & it does provide a pleasant environment.

RE: Assignment for all you snowbirds

I wouldn't trust rv park reviews too much. I posted about a bad experience I had last month and it hasn't been posted yet. I doubt if it will be. It wasn't a good review. Suffice to say I would not recommend Stone Creek in Schertz Texas unless you will just be staying overnight.
I've posted both positive & negative reviews & NEVER have they not been posted.
Eh!
PS: just checked & that park has two "1" ratings so I don't think that you are correct about not posting a bad review.
