RE: Fernie BC to Rocky Mountain House AB

If you are traveling on #22 from #3 to Rocky, here are a number of spots where you could stay:
Black Diamond: Foothills Lions Club Campground
Turner Valley: Hell's Half Acre Campground
Bragg Creek: Campsites in the Elbow Valley
Cochrane: Bow RiversEdge (as previously mentioned) or Springhill RV Park
Sundre: a number of places http://www.sundre.worldweb.com/WheretoStay/Campgrounds/
including my home park; Coyote Creek Golf & RV resort.

RE: New Good Sam benefit

Well, it still doesn't come close to Passport America discounts, but it brings it $5 closer. Thanks for the info.
Yes, BUT most GS parks are nicer than too many PA parks... IMHO!

RE: How often to change trailer water filter?

Keep in mind that if not used at all times, germ-y crud might form on the filter. Some people put the filter in a plastic bad in their freezer when not in use.

RE: Quebec City

I used Transit C.G in Levis that is across the river,a ferry will take you straight to Down Town Quebec in just a few minutes.
This is our favorite way to visit the old city.

RE: surge guard lock box

I use a 3' light chain that I secured to the surge protector and padlock it to the pedestal when I use it. As stated, it will atleast keep the average joe from walking off with it. If the guy is carrying bolt cutters and wants it bad enough, he will get it no matter what you are using.
I also use chains & padlocks... one above the SurgeGuard & one below.
I had the 'lock box' for my previous 30amp unit.... IMHO useless!:E

RE: US import to BC - CSA conformity

When we ordered ours from a US wholesaler in 2007, we ordered it with the 'CSA option'. The CSA sticker on the rig.
After importing, we did not get the RIV package to do the Canadian Tire thing. Maybe because it was at CSA standards.

RE: Rhino or linex

I have & would vote for Line-X on any future bed lining.
In my case I had mine done in Idaho in 2008. Last winter I noticed that there were a couple of areas that were 'chipped'. When we were in Yuma, I brought it to the local dealer for repair. They told me no problem as it would be covered by the lifetime warranty.
The service rep then took pictures of the work. She then used a depth finder & discovered that the depth was 50% or less throughout the bed.
After getting approval from their regional office, they spent many many hours removing the old applications before doing a new application. All covered by the Line-X warranty.
Wonderful service by the Yuma franchise. Boo to the dealer in Idaho.

RE: Gas or electric hot water heater?

I make the decision for the water heater & fridge based on the cost of Kwh versus the cost of propane.... have a calculation routine for this.
BTW: we are 'most timers' that usually pay for our electricity.

RE: Good Sam not so good

I've used the GS service three times:
1) less than 2 hour wait on Labor Day
2) 40 minute wait to get a locksmith for keys locked into TV
3) 90 minute wait for locksmith for damaged lock on RV door
IMHO: I give GS a 9 out of 10!

RE: Montana to Michigan

We did a similar trip last summer:
Day 1 - Sundre to Weyburn & stayed overnight at WalMart.
Day 2 - to Grand Forks ND, stayed @ Grand Forks Campground (so so park)
Day 3 & 4 - stayed at Top of the Morn Resort & Campground just before Iron River WI - stayed an extra day to visit the Tall Ships in Duluth - nice park
Day 5 - stayed overnight at the Target Store in Marquette MI
Day 6 - arrived at the KOA in the Soo, Ontario. Very nice park. Stayed here for 2 nights so that we could do the Agawa Canyon Train Tour.
No problems in accommodating a bigger rig.

RE: Overpriced Attractions

NOW BACK TO THE TOPIC.
Grand Canyon Skywalk: Not only is it OVER PRICED, but has to be the most disorganized event that I have attended. Furthermore, the pictures you see had to be taken with a wide-angle lens as the platform does not extend very far.

RE: 5th Airborne adjustment

I usually fill it to around 95PSI prior to hookup. Once I'm totally set up, I then let out the air until it hits the sweet spot.

RE: Route from Waterton Park, AB to Banff

Just a thought: if you take #2, you have the opportunity to visit Head Smashed-In Buffalo Jump. This is a World Heritage site, well worth a visit to see a Native American way of life.
Eh!
If you go this way, you can get around Calgary by taking 22X westbound (just at the south edge of Calgary) to Bragg Creek & then head north on 22 which intersects with TC #1.
