RE: 6th. Annual Danforth Bay Fall Rally, NH - Oct. 9 - 12, 2009

Is everyone all tucked in for the winter? I'm heading to Ashville NC Saturday for a week, my sister and family rented a class C and are meeting me there...Thanksgiving is scheduled at the Biltmore.

RE: Windows 7/Internet Explorer 8 Forum Page Load Issue

Why would I want to use another browser? IE is the BEST! And how is that a resolution to my post? Tonght it opened in "normal" view, no need for "compatibility" view. I'm only posting so they can look into potential issues.

Windows 7/Internet Explorer 8 Forum Page Load Issue

Ever since upgrading to Windows 7, I have to run the RV.Net forums page in Compatibility View, page does not load otherwise...thought you would like to know. This is happening when I go directly to My Forums page I believe...I think going into just RV.Net and then the Forums loads okay...I'll test it and report back. QUCK TEST RESULTS: The pages seem to open okay when going to RV.Net main page, them Forums, then My Forums. After deleting history and cache, My Forums link opened without being in compatibility modes this time, rare that it does.

RE: Email client for windows 7

I still don't understand why you think you were having a problem with Windows Live Mail, and not GMail's server being delayed...but as long as you found something you like, all is well.

RE: Email client for windows 7

Windows/Microsoft did get rid of the multiple indentity option in their email programs after Outlook Express, they intend you to use multiple Windows User IDs to manage multiple identities on a PC...makes a lot of sense, but not what everyone wants. I just tested an email send in Live Mail from my HotMail account to my two Comcast accounts on this netbook, came through immediately. I'll go to my Yahoo browser email account next and send something to the three accounts in Live Mail. On edit, all three emails from the Yahoo account came into Windows Live Mail immediately.

RE: Email client for windows 7

Sam, yes Windows Live Mail has the sync button, same as send/receive. My experience over the years has found the delay to be on the free email servers' end, not on your particular email client. My wife still uses a Yahoo account through Windows Mail (Vista), and sometimes there is a huge delay when she tries to send me something...this is a problem w/Yahoo, not Windows Mail. Sounds like you are sending mail through Gmail browser to your Windows Live Mail account and are experiencing delays? Is Gmail able to be set up as an email account in Live Mail? Just asking, I don't use Gmail. I have three email accounts set up in Live Mail, my personal Comcast account, my business Comcast account, and my Windows HotMail account...they all send/receive instantaneously. My Yahoo account cannot be set up in Live Mail, it's the free account...only the Yahoo pay account can be, though I think I saw a user workaround to get it to work, not important to me.

RE: Email client for windows 7

I changed over my primary email notebook to Outlook 2007 and Windows 7 HP, am using Windows Live Mail on this netbook w/Windows 7 HP. I use Live Mail with multiple accounts, and there is an option (as was in Outlook Express and most email programs) to check for mail in a certain time period, the default setting is 30 minutes, but I change my setting to 5 minutes. Not sure why gmail through Windows Live Mail would be delayed. Also, any time you click on send/retrieve email it will check all mail servers/accounts you have set to do so, so I'm still confused on where you think there is some delay. I'm gonna keep using Live Mail on this netbook and see how I like it...I still download all my email to the primary notebook using Outlook...my setting on this netbook is to leave a copy of the messages on the server.

RE: 6th. Annual Danforth Bay Fall Rally, NH - Oct. 9 - 12, 2009

Got paid today to drive 100 miles and remove a zip disk out of a drive so the PC would boot up...they claimed they had disconnected the external zip drive (as I advised while I was away) and it still would not start...guess my instructions were too vague! This is not the first time I've gotten paid for this...gotta love those NJDOT workers. Just unpacking the fridge today and cleaning out the rest of the rally supplies I brought, too much stuff! Who has some pics from the rally?...haven't had a chance to look at the few I took, but will get them uploaded soon.

Karen, I think the teeny tiny short Mayan woman could have been from south of the Mason Dixon line or the Deep South, she kept yelling "Dixie, Dixie".

RE: 6th. Annual Danforth Bay Fall Rally, NH - Oct. 9 - 12, 2009

Raining this morning here at DB...not sure how I feel like driving home...Mass Pike to NYS Thruway is easiest, avoiding I-84 through CT, but it adds some time and mileage... I may opt for ease, especially if it keeps raining. Maybe we go that way and stop for dinner on the Thruway somewhere, then get back home AFTER the Garden State Parkway commuter rush...we'll see. No little gnome woman sightings in the rally field today, the witching hours must have passed. Either way it's so long from Danforth Bay and our 6th rally, gotta grab my balls and get out of here!

RE: 6th. Annual Danforth Bay Fall Rally, NH - Oct. 9 - 12, 2009

Thanks for the wood donation, much appreciated...sorry we missed most of you this morning...I thought you New Englanders were early risers? Only some teeny tiny short Mayan woman being dragged around by a chocolate lab was out when we were leaving...think she was still in costume... We had a nice weather day to "cog" up to Mt. Washington, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. I have everything packed up and ready to roll tomorrow morning, not looking forward to a 9 hour drive ending up in NJ during the evening rush, but Nancy wants to get back tomorrow, so off we will go! Thanks to everyone for contributing to another fun filled rally weekend, looking forward to many more. My next trip is a solo trip to Asheville NC over Thanksgiving week, meeting up with my younger sister and her family who are renting a Class C for the week...first timers! Signed a job before we went out for dinner tonight so my streak is intact...can't go away without new work coming in...oh, well...time to get horizontal. The entire rally field is all mayan. Cya online soon!

RE: 6th. Annual Danforth Bay Fall Rally, NH - Oct. 9 - 12, 2009

Good morning ralliacs! A chilly evening but another great weather day forecasted for today. We're going to cookout again this afternoon, hot dogs, hamburgers, etc...I have a 6 layer dip w/tortilla chips coming out. If anyone has hot dog/hamburger rolls, we may need them. Steve and Liz won for best costume again last night, but not for best site, but their record remains intact. The community fire attendance dwindled rather quickly last night as it got down to 40 degrees, but yours truly, Steve, Liz and Dave hung in there till almost 11:00 pm. No gold dollar coins were handed out last night to trick or treaters, a major disappointment. There was a short motherly woman controlling our candy tables like a drill sargeant, she sure was scaring those little angels looking for a handout...must have been her costume. I did have my grab your balls shorts on and other assorted accessories, and the Yankee ball was out as well...someone has pics. Cya soon back online, live from Danforth Bay.

RE: 6th. Annual Danforth Bay Fall Rally, NH - Oct. 9 - 12, 2009

We had another wonderful potluck dinner at 3:30 pm, all the dishes were excellent, thanks everyone! The Halloween festivities are winding down now, they are currently awarding the prizes in the hall as I'm typing...we had a huge turnout once again for the candy barrage, and I got to walk around the campground for the first time ever and see a few of the sites, very nice work... Campfire is roaring presently, and the rally faithful are sitting by the fire misbehaving as usual. Hope to have a great Sunday of events as well, so Rally On from DB 2009...

RE: 6th. Annual Danforth Bay Fall Rally, NH - Oct. 9 - 12, 2009

Well we had a nice Friday cookout and community fire, everyone seemed to have a godd time and the rain held off for the most part. Special thanks to Hutch/Celia for supplying the hams/hots/hot chocolate...everything was great. Saturday morning has brought us better weather and today's forecast is good for the next couple days. Nancy went with her brother and his wife on a sightseeing trip, and I've got the chance to clean up/vacuum and play loud music for a few hours! Rally On, potluck is early today, 3:30 pm so we can get the Halloween festivities set up and ready for the trick-or-treaters by 5:00 pm. Rumor has it that SF7 site is giving out gold dollar coins this year...once a tradition has started you have to keep it going and upping the ante. Gotta go, more prep. to do for potluck and blender action...cats are happy I've got the windows open!
