RE: Falcon 190 Front Windows

Several years ago, someone with the name "Frederick" in their handle wrote that he and his son had made patterns for both of the front windows and had formed them from heated plexiglas. I seem to remember that they had used a vacuforming process. The resultant windows were curved around the front but did not have the "bubble" curvature of the originals. You may want to try searching the archives of this CVC Forum. Anyone who has worked with plexiglas by heat-forming should be able to duplicate the windows, provided you can remove them from the van without completely destroying them. You would then have to find an appropriate gasket for them, perhaps from the selection of replacement gaskets in the JC Whitney catalog.
I may find myself in the same boat in the near future. I will probably first have to make plaster casts of the original windows to use as a mold.
A suggestion: speak to the Vocational Technical/Tech-Ed teacher at the local high school. They often teach heat-forming as a manufacturing process in their classes and might be willing to take on the challenge. Our kids can work wonders when presented with a difficult problem!!
