RE: GM Integrated Brake Controller Question

Do not know if the GM controller is the same but the Ford IBC has a setting throught the DIC that has settings for electric or electric/hydraulic. GM may be the same. Check it out.

RE: Slight Concerns with Good Sam GMAC

Why would you not go to your neighbor and ask him to pony up something. Just because he did not have insurance should not let him off scott-free. He should volunteer to take some responsibility and pay you.

RE: Do you use cell phones while backing into campsite?

I usually just walk back into the site to get a feel for it and back it in. I do not understand why people need help that is usually unreliable and by a person who has never backed in a trailer. You really do not need help. What would you do if you were alone? DW usually just sits in the truck while I back it in.

RE: TOWING HUMMER

Probably had to pay extra for a 'BREAK LINE'. Should have got a price on installing a BRAKE LINE.

RE: Purchasing problems...Now RESOLVED!!!

If you signed paper work with a price, then for me that would be the price. When we were in the process of purchasing our Open Range Roamer we had agreed on a price and when we were ready to ink the deal the dealer said oh ya there is a price increase. We walked and went to another dealer and got the original deal without the price increase. A deal is a deal. What are they going to do when the unit arrives, say oh sorry there was another $2000 increase. I would walk if I were you.

RE: Towing with tonneau

I also have a roll up that is very water tight and rolls up tight and neat to the cab. Those that looks messy are not rolled up properly, are cheap covers or the owner just does not care.

RE: Terrible Service

The contract is the contract and you want something more that you have not paid for. At what distance should they cut off 'was only x miles away'. First it was 2 miles, this time 4 miles, will it be 10 miles next time. I think you should thank Good Sam not discontinue. They are keeping their side of the contract and you are not.

RE: Driving with slide extended?

A few years ago we had a Mobile Suites 5er with the bedroom slide, obviously in the upper gooseneck portion of the 5er. Due to some kind of hydraulic failure the bedroom slide extended about halfway while driving. Did not notice it in the mirror because it was up so high. Pulled into a rest area and noticed it and put back in. Adjusted the mirror to keep an eye on it and had to stop a few times on the way home to put it back in. Not all slide extensions while driving are operator error.

RE: Need storage near Toronto

Those professional storage companies will cost you a small fortune. We stored our various trailers for the last 16 years at Milton Heights Campground in Milton that is a small town west of Toronto. Gated entrance to the campground and a second padlocked entrance to the storage area and the Manager, Jean is right on top of things. Never had a problem. Costs us around $400 for 6 months. Never ever had a problem. Lot of people store cars here for the winter as well.

RE: Blow drying..? Is that possible?

We have a 30 amp trailer and use the blow dryer with the A/C all the time. We usually put the fridge and water heater over to propane and have never had a problem.

RE: Rudeness at River Reflections in Oroville, CA

Pretty much every RV park around here has the same $5.00 policy for visitors and often for a second vehicle. Really do not understand why you are so bent out of shape over such an insignificant issue. These policies are in place to keep undesirables out of the place and your daughter safe. You should be happy that they are on top of security and who is coming and going for your daughter's safety.

RE: Canadians leaving a RV in the US.

We have some very good friends who left their Canadian 5th wheel in Ocala Florida for several years and then traded it in on a park model with no problems or extra paperwork at all.

RE: Tow /haul button >>

I use mine all the time and really do not notice any difference in mileage. Hey we are towing heavy trailers, mileage is really not in the equation. You get what you get. I also use the tow/haul around town for gearing down and when driving in stop and go traffic - requires less braking and lets the engine and tranny do the work.

RE: Two spare tires

When we had our Mobile Suites I did carry an unmounted spare tire in the basement area since we did have a blowout and I had trouble finding the right sized tire. Thought it would be very rare for two tires to go and I could get the unmounted spare mounted just about anywhere.
