RE: ? for Leo Benson

Thanks! I think I need to boil my cider down a bit more, it isn't thick at all. Did use it in the cookie recipe and while I had to add a bit more flour they still turned out ok. Will put it in the slow cooker tonight and boil down some more. Glad to know some other things to use it in.

RE: Does anyone use the storage under queen sized bed?

We have under bed storage that has openings on the outside as well as doors on the inside. Very drafty and we didn't use the inside openings so we lined the entire area with blue form board to isolate it. We even put blue foam under the plywood the mattresses rest on. While we were at it we lined the power cord area also. Made a huge difference in our comfort, both summer and fall/winter camping.

? for Leo Benson

Hi,
Remember sometime last year when you posted the recipe for Crackle Top Cider Cookies? You tried boiling/simmering cider in a crock pot and said it worked? Well I want to make those cookies and need to make the boiled cider, so could you please tell me how the cider is supposed to end up? Do you reduce it by half or more? Is it supposed to thicken?
Thanks,

RE: Cleaning cigarette smoke?

My DD bought a home that had been smoked in for a very long time. She had to have professionals come in and clean, Kiltz the walls and then repaint to get rid of the nicotine on the walls. Had to have the carpet replaced also. Major job but she got a great price on the home and the money to do all that had to be done to live in it.
Reason I mentioned this is you may have to wash, then Kiltz, and paint the walls to get rid of the nicotine smell on them.

ol'blue/Debbie!

Made your Wheat and Honey Sandwich Rolls today and they are wonderful! My DH and I both loved them and they were so easy. This was the first time I used the dough feature on my bread machine, will use this again. I'm going to post the recipe as it's been quite awhile since I got this recipe. Hope you don't mind!
Wheat and Honey Sandwich Rolls
1 1/4 cups warm milk
1 egg, beaten
2 tablespoons butter, softened
1/4 cup honey
3/4 teaspoon salt
2 3/4 cups bread flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 package yeast
Melted butter
Place all ingredients into bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Use dough cycle.
When dough cycle has finished punch down dough. On a lightly floured surface pat or roll dough out to 3/4 inch thickness.
Cut out rolls with a 3-4 inch diameter biscuit cutter or glass.
Place rolls on a lightly greased cookie sheets; cover with a cloth and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
Bake at 350° for 10-15 minutes. Brush with melted butter if desired.
Makes 13 (3 inch) rolls.

RE: Weight Watcher Recipes

Thank you so much Leo! I just love this stuff, used to get it at a little hole-in-the-wall Tai place. They served it with spring rolls and I would use a spoon to make sure to get all of it! Kids said I was a pig about it, can you believe that?

RE: Hot Dish without an Oven !

Only problem with some of the Hamburger Helpers is the sodium. We really have to watch that and most of the boxed/bagged mixes are high in it. When you make it yourself you have control!

RE: need HELP!! SMELL!!!

Vanilla will work. Just wet a rag and wring it out well, then wet with the vanilla. Wipe the walls and floor of the fridge and leaving the rag in there close the door and leave overnight.Next day rinse out rag with plan water and re-wet with vanilla, wipe walls and floor again. Continue until smell is gone.
This is from the Igloo cooler site several years ago and has saved several marine fridges from having meat left in them.

Quick ? How are the ends of the clothes line fixed? Look like they have a loop on each end, how did you do that? Inquiring minds want to know!

RE: Emergency? What about your pet?

Something else to think of is how the rescuers are going to get into the RV. Maybe a hidden key with info on where it's hidden on the info sheet? Wouldn't hurt to give the name(s) of pets and if they are likely to bite or not when someone enters there "home."
Lot's of good stuff to think about.

RE: I got HOSED!

I have very limited storage for all the outdoor "stuff" you need so this is what I did. Bought zip bags from my local RV center, they are made for wet items and have a place you can write on with a marker. One for my gray, or I guess green for some people, and 3 for my white hoses. They work great, store flat and keep the hoses clean, don't even have to connect the ends together.
