RE: Double Towing in Florida

Those double tows are commercial vehicles and in some states on certain highways they can triple tow these trailers. They run under totally different laws. Here in Michigan you can only double tow with a 5er and only a properly equipped trailer. You can get a ticket for being over 65' or the max. tow weight of the vehicle(these tickets are rare but have been written).

RE: Bait&Switch

Do file a complaint with the local BBB and you might want to let the State know of this practice. If you have proof that model was not available last year then go after them.

RE: Cracker Barrel info NJ to MI

Exit 17 on 23 in Dundee, MI is Cabela's on the northwest corner. Pull in off M-50 first drive on left turn head past the dump station to third parking area pull in and park back by the trees for the night. They have a free water and dump station on your way out. Fair grounds in Harrison, MI are nice with full hook ups about $24 a night if they are not having a fair at the time. You also have Midland and West Branch with nice fair grounds.

RE: Mr. Steamy in splendide?

Dryers run from 110 degree's up to 180 degrees on large commercial models. Water produces steam at approx 200 degrees. Do the math, the only thing it will do is increase your drying time by leaking water on to your clothes. Steam and drying clothes will not work since steam is moisture and drying removes moisture.

RE: Living and working in Mexico

The big problem is when a consulate is gunned down with his wife in broad day light that shows they no longer fear anyone. We lived almost 12 years in AZ and NM back in the 70 & 80s and went to Mexico many times but there was not the kind of violence there is now. An automatic weapon and grenade do not always hit there intended target. You have to cross at a guarded crossing and that's were the most violence is happening along the boarder. We spent two years in PI with duty to other southeast Asia countries in the mid 70's and did not see this type of violence. Sure we have violence here in the U.S. but it is not with automatic weapons and explosives from Cartel trained soldiers. Those trained to protect our Boarders are having run ins with these people bring drugs in to the U.S. and they have to meet violence with violance.

RE: RINSE HOSE LEAK TOILET

My hose is clamped on an outlet line on the back of the toliet. The hose and sprayer is the same used in most kitchens. You can buy a replacment at any hardware, Lowe's or Home Depot.

RE: TRAVEL TO MEXICO

When they started getting Consulate families out, it's time to stay away until there government gets control if they can. It's up to the Mexican government to get control of the problem at the boarder and stop blaming everyone else for there internal problems. Corruption runs deep and as long as they let there people run across the boarder and leave it up to the northern neighbor ro control what there people do it will never stop.

RE: WASHER/DRYER

Electric 110 volt dryers do work. The only problem is they will take up to 3 times longer to dry a load than a 220 volt. Stackables are designed to run off a 20 AMP breaker. They pull about the same power the single units do so if the rig is wired for a unit then there shouldn't be a problem. Prefer the Whirlpool stackables since they are a U.S. product and parts/service is available nation wide.

RE: Electric heater question.

Two wire no ground and if plugged in backward into outlet can give you a shocking surprise. Use to be big problem with appliances before code required 3 wire ground.

RE: The high cost of attending RV events...

For the last 5 years as Michigan Good Sam Directors we have put on Samborees. After the $4 a gallon fuel we dropped to two rallies a year. When you add in cost of entertainment, food, and fair grounds fees which have all went up the last few years. We give our vendors a break on spaces but we can still give 4 days and 3 nights for $75 for (30 AMPS and Water Escanaba, MI in June and full hook ups at Otisville in Sept) this includes 3 night entertainment, ice cream, donuts, coffee, popcorn, and a lunch or breakfast. These rallies take months in advance pre-planning. Large Rallies your looking a $1.8-$2.5 million range for the grounds, entertainment, and food. We have volunteered at Dayton and enjoyed it but it's hard work for a return in your rally fee. You pay first and if you work then you get a refund check for part of the rally fees. On large rallies if you break even or a small profit you did really good. It's never a guaranteed profit!!

RE: CampClub USA

It basically the same as Passport with a large number of camp grounds that will give you discount camping almost all is during the week. so if you travel and camp during the week it can save you a bunch in fees.

RE: Thumbs DOWN on one of the BIG THREE CGs @ MB

If it's such a Christian camp ground why do they need rent a cops. The ones we're been to here in Michigan see no reason for such requirements since we are all honest people who camp there. Find a new camp ground, they fail to pass the requirements of a Christian camp ground.

They're a great add on, when they get real loud it's time to jump out of bed and put the awning up. Great wind alarm!!
