RE: Bay of fundy

To camp.. Don't know.., unless your really lucky you may have to spend the better part of a full tidal cycle... We go right to the mouth of the river and sit in a parking lot next to a restaurant that is beside th big bridge off the highway... Iif I were to do it again I would try to be in land a mile...I'm on my way there now, my parents live near by...when I get there and assuming I have signal I'll ask the locals and post for you.

RE: Doolie Conversion?

I am by no means the weight police...you are correct in that mechanically its just a rear end and fender change, perhaps you may have to lift the truck but no big deal...
Trouble is, you haven't changed your door sticker...

RE: Decided on new Brakes...

Final review....
I just put on about a 1000 miles through Ontario...lots of big long hills, the upgrade is night and day ! The pedal stays firm and it seems the hotter the brakes get, the more "stoppy" they get, I don't want to say grabby as it isnt like dashboard pizza stoping...when apply the brakes and just hold my foot for say10 seconds, the rate of deceleration seems to increase...
I weighed in at 10,030 pounds when we left home...

RE: Tub Support

I had a TT were the tub would buckle when I stepped in it... I glued some wood support around the drain area and filled a garbage bag with spray foam and shoved it under the tub the entire length of the tub was supported by the bag full of foam..

RE: Has anyone mounted a truck camper on a flatbed trailer ?

I did it this when I was a kid, we boo docked lots.. I had a 24 foot trailer and I mounted the camper as far forward as I could, I enclosed the cab over bit so I had really awesome storage and out the back I had a really awesome sun deck...

RE: Do I need Brake Control Harness- new setup

Get the 20 dollar harness and the controller just plugs in under the dash...Trouble is finding the socket, on the 2011 it behind the glove box or under the dash to the right of the steering wheel.

RE: Brake noise

Perhaps the pad is riding on the rotor...I use synthetic caliper grease to lube the contact points between pad and caliper...

RE: From 5er to TT Keystone Springdale questions/advice.

Our Springdale was very entry level...nothing special, a couch slide 292BHLS ...it wasn't what we wanted bu the price sold us...
We put 30k miles on it with zero issues it served us well...then it was totaled by hail...
I would nly buy another one if the price was as good as the last one...
Or 292bhls was brand new off the lot in 2006 for 20k taxes delivery prep etc in..,

If I had to guess and with the understanding that the bearings are good, the brake shoes are dragging on the drum.

RE: Dexter EZ lube hubs

by little rubber nipples your referring to the rubber plug dust cover that you remove to insert the grease gun nozzle ?
with a dexter ez lube, you pump a tube of grease in and the old grease pumps out the bearing closest to you and you clean it up as it comes out... what rubber nipple are you referring to ?

RE: I KID YOU NOT.... (TEENAGE BOYS)

here in Canada we might have assumed they had "smoked a bowl"....
funny thing about todays kids, I teach hunter safety and firearms safety courses, I take otherwise "bad" kids out hunting often and the changes just one visit to the bush can bring out in a young mind are stunning.
