RE: I'm back!! Traded Winnebago View for 2012 Roadtrek SS Agile!

I am so glad to be back in a class B! I made the mistake of trading my 2007 Roadtrek SS Agile for a 2011 Winnebago View 24J--lots more room, slide-out, etc. I hated it!! Tried to sell it for months--only got low-ball offers. I finally decided to trade it and take the loss, instead of looking at the View in the driveway knowing that if I had a class B, I could take it to Costco or Montana and park it almost anywhere! So, I found a 2012 Roadtrek SS Agile at a dealer that gave me a decent deal. I drove 550 miles to Lakeland, Florida, and picked it up Wednesday. I love it!
Since we're considering a View/Navion, what did you hate about the View? The Size, mileage, power, or what?
Thanks in advance.
The OP stated it was because of the size. The View is a Class C, so I suggest you ask your questions in that forum. That way this thread will stay on topic, and you will get a better response over there.

RE: Problem with Outlook 2003

I made a post about this about a year ago. Worth reading so you know what's going on with Chrome, and other browsers, especially if you uninstall one.

RE: Another mail complaint

Thank you.
Besides the latest mail problem, I have only good things to say about Good Sam, and the direction it appears to be heading. The Phoenix Rally was a lot of fun, and except for some shuttle problems, was pretty well organized, with a lot of friendly, and helpful staff.

RE: Question on Front Curtain Track Fasteners (RoadTrek)

It seems they were done with both, my 2002, had rivets, I remember drilling them out, and putting some new ones in.

Another mail complaint

I had called GS a few years ago to have all the junk mail stopped, except for the Highways magazine, and renewel notice. All has been good until I signed up for the Rally in Phoenix, now I'm getting something from them about once a week.
Please, enough already, I have received about 10 pieces of junk mail since the Rally. All I can say is if you sign up for a Rally be prepared to get bombarded with this stuff. :(
I have been on this forum for 10 years, trust me I know about all the programs, if I want one I will contact you!

RE: Which Class B should we purchase?

The OP asked, Which Class B should we purchase? Unfortunately the thread got pretty far away from that, also thanks to the same person, and others responding to him.

RE: Kayak Rack for a Roadtrek

Try doing a search in the "B" forum for posts older than a year. Several threads on this topic, and I think all of them recommend against putting one on the roof of a Rt.

You took the bait of one of the Trolls that visit The Class B forum. If you have been reading the forums here the last few months you could have saved yourself some frustration, as well as the time you took to respond to him.

RE: How long do coach batteries last?

When chassis batteries go they seem to go all at once, without much warning. For me, replacing one after 5 years is a small price to pay for the security of not having it go bad out in the boonies somewhere. We all have different priorities, so go with what ever you feel comfortable with.
The average life of an oem car battery, I think is about 3 years, some get more, some less.

RE: How long do coach batteries last?

I would think average, under good conditions, and properly maintained, 6 to 7 years. Extreme heat, and cold are the real killers, and of course deep discharging. I would keep using them until I noticed a problem.
I would replace the chassis battery.

RE: Rear Storage Box

Make sure you don't add too much weight to the box, and take weight off of the front tires, as that could severely affect handling. I would also weigh your Class B to make sure you are within your CCC's.

RE: Hyperlink problem

Tom, I have had the same problem, couldn't paste link to a web site, or a picture link from my web site. I had to paste it in the message box, and add the URL, or img.
This was through RV.Net, on my PC, using IE7. It's OK now, but I have had it happen a couple of times.

RE: So far, so good--our ERA!

I've just started shopping for a Class B and am pretty sold on using one that has a Sprinter chassis. Am considering buying a previously-owned Sprinter Cargo Van and having it converted to meet my needs by Creative Mobile Interiors, which is located near where I live in Columbus, OH. Has anyone here used that company for a conversion?
Best to start your own thread instead of hijacking this one.

RE: no dc power when camping

Not your problem, but check all the busses, especially the ground buss, the screws can vibrate loose. Make sure shore power is disconnected, as well as the battery when you tighten the buss screws. Everyone should check the buss screws at least once a year.

RE: How to troubleshoot aux battery problem

If you go with an AGM battery, you may need to change your converter, depending on what type you have. You will need one with a smart charger, so you don't over charge the AGM battery, and toast it.

RE: Roadtrek Macerator Redux

Just like you can order a Roadtrek without the Ground Effects package, I was always under the impression that you could also order one with the gravity dump, but I sure could be wrong about that. Maybe when they were at a reduced staff a couple years ago, they were not taking special orders.
I wouldn't put much faith when someone says, I knew guy, who knew a guy, who's brother did this, etc.

RE: Generator trouble

Those are good suggestions. Handbasket: the generator has 128 hrs (has had 2 oil changes, one at 20 hrs, and another at 100 hrs). I exercise it on a weekly basis for about 30 to 40 mins.
Wil check the idle control an see. What is a "kill-a-watt"?
