RE: BRAKE BUDDY

I had an older style Brake Buddy that had a problem with the plug. The spring loaded metal piece on the end (cigarette plug) lost the spring and had trouble making contact inside the receptacle. Might be worth looking at it and see if it has the spring tension.

RE: Buying first 5th Wheel.. Need lots of info!!

Based on what you say you are looking for, I would consider a rear kitchen model. Lots of counter space in that style. Also make sure what you are looking at has a 15,000 btu AC unit (many come with 13,500). Mad Norskey had some excellent advise about getting your truck weighed, as that lets you know how much you can carry in the bed (pin weight). I think with the truck you have and budget, you should be able to find a nice safe setup. Good Luck

RE: Cape Cod Camping

We've been to Sweetwater a few times. Nice and central for day trips. If you like Baseball, they are in the middle of the Cape Cod League (premier league for MLB prospects). Games are just a donation and it is fantastic baseball. Beaches are close by also.

RE: making the bed in a forest river wildcat

We pull the mattress away from the wall then put the sheets on and push it back. That helps a little, but it still isn't easy.

RE: New Hampshire

I was born and raised in that neck of the woods. I have an aunt living in Dover, NH and an uncle living in Rochester, NH and numerous cousins in those areas. In fact one of my first cousins owns and operates a campground up in West Ossipee, NH called Whit’s End and we stay up there when we are just chilling out and visiting with family. Here is their web site and a pictures of our rig during our last stop there. web site CG Pix When we want to be a little closer to the main stream tourist areas yet not right in them we stay at a nice little family run CG in Berwick, ME. It’s just a short drive to Dover or Rochester, NH or the outlet malls in Kittery, ME with a straight shot to Wells Beach and great sea food. Here is their web site and a couple of pictures. web site CG Pix Wells Beach FastEagle I have been to Whits end a few times. Several years ago we had to bug out due to lots of rain and the river rising to a level of about 4 ft thru the campground. The people that run the place seem real nice.

RE: Jt strongarms

I know the Strongarms are a great product, but anyone looking for an inexpensive way to stabilize their camper, here is what I did. Two of these work very well Cargo bars. I am not bashing the Jt's, just offering an inexpensive alternative. I place them criss crossed on the landing gear (top of one side to bottom of the other side). They really work well and the price was right. Jim

RE: Tires for 2007.5 Chev. 3/4 HD 6.6L Duramax/Allison

My 08 Silverado 3500 came with Bridgestone Duravis tires on it. I have over 60,000 mile and still have plenty of tread left. I will buy the same tires when the time comes that they need to be replaced.

I know you said you searched, but did you look here RVT? If you can find another model like yours, you may get a feel for a price to ask. Jim

RE: ocean front camping in the northeast

Here is a place on Cape Cod. If you have a motorhome you can park right on top of the seawall. Very tight spaces and only a few, but it is on the water Ocean View

RE: Lakeshore RV review

What I have done now is file a report with the BBB. They verbally assured me that they would do any repairs that it needed! Before it left the dealership!!! And they advertise the same thing on their recording. I try to have a little faith in humanity! And I hope that a large dealership would do what they say they're going to do! It's not the money I paid for the repairs that's got me fired up! Its the dishonesty!! And if they would have disclosed that it needed repairs it would have been negotiated into the price. I paid for a premium used unit. Not a fixer upper. But now if I can help somebody not make the same mistake with Lakeshore RV Than at least I have accomplished something. From what I see. You can consider "mission accomplished"

RE: cape cod campresort & cabins

Just one note if you plan on staying at Nickerson. It fills up fast so make reservations soon if you will be going in mid season. I suggest area 4. Jim

RE: Boothbay Harbor, Maine

"Red's Eats is not as unique as some would believe" I guess there is always someone who thinks they know more. So be it. I just wanted to give you a great place to check out. Enjoy your time in Boothbay Jim

RE: Boothbay Harbor, Maine

This forum is always helpful. Though I'm not the original poster, we're headed up that way in the summer and I wanted a couple of days in Boothbay area. Booked Shore Hills yesterday. Quick replies to my questions from owner, always a good sign. Looking forward to seeing that part of the world for the first time. On the way in from the highway you will probably go by Red's Eats in Wiscasset. If you want the best lobster roll in the entire world (my humble opinion), get in line and wait it out. Yes, it is worth it. Jim
