RE: Polson / Flathead Lake

We stopped in Polson last year coming from Glacier. Beautiful area. We stayed at the KOA in Polson, nice campground. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-K1MFf7AnPqk/TizMyBa-DmI/AAAAAAAAEhs/BLsw9IVvcz4/s400/CIMG1585.JPG height=400 width=400 There is a museum just south of town that is awesome. It is called Miracle of America, great place and I am not much on museums. You can check my blog in sig and see some of the pictures I took. Enjoy your trip

RE: Lower screen door cover

I bought a screen door insert at lowes (white) and trimmed it to fit ours, and it worked perfectly, for about $20. I put it on the inside of the screen. This is what we had done also.

RE: dinghy towing vehicles

My best suggestion would be to check the owners manual of the vehicle you are looking at.

Adding Inverter

I have a 2009 Fleetwood Fiesta, V10. I now have tow 6V batteries. I would like to put in an inverter as we will be fulltiming in it in a few years. I have a couple of questions. 1) My batteries are under the steps. Has anyone ever remodeled the steps to add a tray for four batteries (total)? I understand that the tray would have to be re-enforced under the steps and maybe from the frame to be able to hold the tray. 2) What would be the best inverter to install? Also would you wire to everything or just a few select outlets. I know the bigger the inverter to more stuff you can run. The TV and satellite box for sure. It would also be nice to get a couple of minutes out of the microwave and maybe a hair dryer. I will have to get someone to do the work, so I was wondering what some of my options are? TIA

RE: Dining booth to bed

Ours doesn't have a post, but has a brace coming from the wall. Up under the table there is a release on the brace and the table will slide down along the wall. Sometimes it catches a little bite and we have to wiggle it.

RE: run away country fest!

We spent last weekend in a campground with tenters as neighbors. The tenters were on the generator side and were a lot noiser than my generator with the genturi on it. They had a girl scout troup, I think. They ran through people campsites and once I had to ask them to turn the radio down. The generator didn't even drown it out. I try to be considerate when tenters are around, but it is not always the RV'ers with generators that are the problem. Inconsiderate people come in all forms of camping.

RE: mike thompson rv

We have bought 2 RV's from them. They are okay to deal with. Our sales guy was Mike Webber. Say hi if you see him. For a dealer we would probably rate them above average. We haven't dealt with other dealers so don't really know, but based on some of the compliants about dealers on this forum they are better than most. This is the Orange County dealership off the 405.

RE: Camping World working to fix customer service reputation?

Actually...in our Jayco club we have a number of members who are NOT Good Sam Club Members, nor are they Members of this Forum. They have commented to me about the service at our area Camping World in La Mirada improving...to the point that several of them that had previousily sworn that "they would never again set foot in a Camping World if their lives depended on it" have returned to that Camping World and had other services done to their RV's. I recently returned to Good Sams insurance because after a several year hiatus away, I was pleased to see some incremental improvements. More attentive, friendly and helpful staff...new items, better store layout for example! And I have returned to shopping there for some new goodies for our RV...it's been at least 2 years since I've been there! Oh don't get me wrong, they ain't perfect yet...but I'm willing to give them a chance. And I wasn't paid or given any freebies for saying that either! http://us.123rf.com/400wm/400/400/ihinm/ihinm0806/ihinm080600638/3192667-man-carrying-a-stack-of-presents.jpg height=150 width=150 We were in the La Mirada store this weekend and did notice that the clerks were out on the floor asking if you needed anything and answering questions, did not see that in the past as much. Spend about 15 minutes talking to Dennis about satellite systems, very helpful.

RE: Life Member

You should have gotten a form to fill out and return letting them know what you want on the cards.

RE: Google +

I have. No problems. As long as your google account is just for you with a real name - not something fake. A cool thing if you use a smartphone, once you join Google Plus, your pictures will upload automatically, and you have unlimited storage. Thanks, I might check it out this weekend.

RE: Campground availability and RV length

One of the reasons we stayed short, see sig, was because we like state parks. (when you can get a reservation). We do have to watch the height and width also. We camp in Kings Canyon every spring and have to be careful of the narrow roads inside the campground.

Google +

I have a blog and use Picasa. How many people have upgraded their account to google+ while using the above programs? If you have upgraded has it caused any problems? Thanks

RE: Running Direct TV Dry Camping

Thanks all..what is an inverter? We have a 2010 Fleetwood Fiesta,....sorry I put this in wrong. We CAN run it off the generator bbut can we also turn the generator off and run it off our batteries? We have 2009 Fiesta and it didn't come with an inverter. Most Fleetwood gas engine MH don't come from the factory with an inverter. An inverter converts 12v to 120v from your batteries.

RE: from Yosemite to Pahrump, NV - six days- what to do??

Kathy, If you do go to Kings Canyon/Sequoia, the road down into the bottom of Kings Canyon can be a little scary as there are long steep dropoffs into the canyon. But, just take your time. There is a neat cavern down at the bottom (Boyden Cavern) and some nice hiking areas, at the other end by Hwy. 198 there is an even better cavern (Crystal Cave), you have to hike a 1/2 mile down and back up to see that one, both are pretty nice, I love the fantastic Sequoia trees that are in the park. Enjoy your stay! Bob in Oakland, Calif. We head to the bottom of Kings Canyon every Memorial Weekend, we will again this year. We go down in the rig in sig. We love it there. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-05UaYAOHM0w/TeQ3eFydygI/AAAAAAAAEXc/JBCmvawP12E/s400/CIMG1507.JPG height=400 width=400 https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-Q9KTxlIzHdM/TeQ3lyX03RI/AAAAAAAAEYQ/EuRngHFKXPM/s400/P1010463.JPG height=400 width=400

RE: Driving US93 to Glacier, NP

Shouldn't be a problem, spend a day in Polsen on Flathead Lake if you have time. There is a museum on the South end of town that is awesome. KOA in Polsen is pretty nice. Some of the sites have decks.

RE: Grand Canyon in Sept/Oct - where to stay?

If you are staying on the south rim I suggest Trailer Village, FHU and close to the canyon.
