RE: Freeport Texas to High Island

NCBounder you got to see what was left of Cameron. Had you ever gone through there before? Two hurricanes did a toll on Holly Beach and Cameron.

RE: Cajun RV Park in Biloxi, MS

I just wanted to give an update on the Cajun RV Park. The park is very clean, well run and very spacious. The pool area was very nice too. It is not a very deep pool at most 4.5 foot but you could cool off in it. Those who were running the park were very friendly and helpful. One draw back is that the sites are not paved. We had a small cement pad that fell just right for the camper door. The site was level and we did have a couple rain showers and the site drained well. We were in site 16. I had paid upfront online for 2 nights stay. I had called and told them we were going to arrive one day early. We were not able to do so and I was surprised that I was not charged for that night! The beach was very clean. Yes there are still some piles of sand that they are going through to get out debris but the majority of the beach is clean and looks great. We enjoyed our stay. The water park in Gulf Island was a little disappointing but we still mananged to enjoy ourselves and get some sun.

RE: Cajun RV Park in Biloxi, MS

Cajun RV Park in Biloxi, MS

I was looking for some reviews on this park. We found it online and are planning a trip to that area and wanted a campground that was within walking distance of the gulf. Looking forward to your replies. Pete http://www.cajunrvpark.com/parkmap.html

RE: What do you use for a calendar-electronic, memory or book ?

I mostly use my cell phone and I have put in repeating appointments, birthdays etc. with a weeks notice so I won't let one pass me by. We also put appointments on the white board in the kitchen to help us all remember who has what.

RE: Are you the Parent of a High School Grad? I need your INPUT!

I just copied and pasted what I recently posted in another forum I belong to. It cost us 80 bucks for the cap and gown. Read the rest of my post to see all the other expenses we have or we are going to encounter. I need a loan! My youngest son a senior this year took home his graduation packet yesterday. So we sat down and did a quick list of names to see how many announcements we would need. We decided we need around 125 or so. So we then began looking at the price sheet. Of course the packages only have 50 announcements so the other 75 we have to purchase at .85 cents a piece. You are better off purchasing a package than trying to buy the individual pieces separately. So the package with 50 announcements and all the other goodies he wants is $233.00 bucks, plus the $63.75 for the extra announcements, then on top of that the cap, gown and accessories for graduation is another $80.00 bucks. $12.00 for shipping and lucky only 4% sales tax for a total of $404.30. Ok so that is part of it. Next thing is the year book ad. That is a popular thing here at home so in the mail was the form for the year book ad. For a full page color ad which would allow us to put as many as 12 photos runs $300.00 a half page $225.00 and so on. So we grab last years annual to see what the other families have been doing…Don’t you hate having to keep up with the Jones…..Heck there are not any Jones in our area! Any way most are buying the FULL PAGE ads. So there goes another $300.00 bucks. Our total now is up to $704.30. Now we need him to take his senior portraits. I can only assume that we are looking at another 2 to 3 hundred for those. Our running total with 3 hundred for the pictures is at $1004.30. We still have the baseball and track season to go through. He never sells all his raffle tickets so there is more money there, plus there is the rental of tuxedoes throughout the year for Homecoming, Prom, Athletic Banquet, and the Senior Dance. And there is a need for corsages for him and the girls. Oh those are only for his school not including the one or two others he attends at other schools. The tux rental is somewhere near $175.00 or so per pop. It does not stop there. Graduation party, before graduation and one the night of no idea yet on the cost of those. And of course, the additional cost for the rental of a Limousine for him and his buddies to ride in. This is one expensive kid! Just have to grin and bare it.

Beware of scam www.policestands.com

All, Beware of www.policestands.com and also www.autolaptops.com. Both these companies are run by the same person or persons in Buffalo Grove IL. There phone number is 847-459-9033. My son a police officer was in need of a lap top stand for his patrol unit. My wife found the autolaptops website before Christmas and ordered the stand. They could not deliver in time for Christmas and the delivery was about one month after. When we opened the box it was not the stand we ordered and it was not even close to the one pictured on their website. We emailed and spent lots of time on the telephone to try and get our money back. They finally agreed to refund our money if we sent the stand back. They were to email us with a return code, instructions and a UPS ticket. They never did. I finally got someone to give a code over the phone and the address to ship the stand to. When I took the stand to the UPS to ship it I learned that the address was a residential and not a business. They received the stand on February 16th and have yet to issue a refund. My wife paid with her debit card. We are in the process of trying to get the bank to refund our money. Of course now I do some research on the company and have found several complaints about them. I also contacted the Police Department in Buffalo and received a phone call from them today where they informed me that they have had several complaints on that company and that they spoke to him this morning about refunding my money. He the laptopstand owner told the police he was going to issue a refund by Friday. Funny thing is that his co worker told me the same thing last week. Just beware. They sell laptop stands for all types of vehicles. The stands are poorly made and you can tell are just something someone is putting together in his back yard shop. There is more to the story...endless emails and phone calls back and forth. They are very rude. Pete

Eureka Springs campgrounds

I did a search here but was not satisfied with the results. I have stayed in Branson before but for this trip we would like to camp in Eureka Springs as we are not planning to go to Branson. Have any of you stayed in Eureka Springs? If so what campground did you stay at?

RE: Cooper Creek Campground, Branson

We stayed there about 5 years ago. We enjoyed our stay, we rented on of their boats and I used my own outboard motor. Some of the sites are tight. The owners were real friendly as I happened to need to borrow a ladder from them and they did not mind loaning one to me. The bath rooms were clean. We did not swim in the pools as it was still too cool.

RE: Here we go again

So many people on here are just clueless to the labor force. Blame unions for busting up the auto industry and the air lines? Now come on. Yea that poor guy eating that bag lunch every day really busted the auto industry. Sure there are some bad apples. It does not mean they are all bad. Moderator you should close this one down. Its a union bashing thread!

RE: Kids These Days....

I'm over 65... Who (or what) is "Bruce Springsteen"? As for the stupor bowl, I agree, "who cares"! The commercials are kinda fun, though. I am with you there. Not 65 but pushing 50 ouch that hurt to type that. LOL

RE: Northwest Louisiana to Yellowstone

We have made the trip ourselves from the Lake Charles area. It all depends on a few factors number one being how many days can you be away from home. Then the other is what all do you plan to see?

RE: Buttons,.....Benjamin Buttons...the movie

I found it to be slow myself. My wife and other family members did enjoy it. I often joked about life and that we should live in in reverse. After seening this movie I change my mind! The darn thing ran close to 3 hours...my rear was getting numb.
