Oil filter for Onan 5500

Has anyone discovered that the crossover filter at NAPA and Car Quest is different from the OEM? It is the same thread and size but about an inch shorter. It has to fit up into a recess which being shorter would make it difficult to install and remove. I think they both are made by Wix.I ended up buying an OEM and paid the same price as NAPA and Car Quest.

RE: Motorhome Highway Speeds

I usually travel at 65 and feel comfortable. On the way back to FL from MI last week my wife insisted I keep it at 55 because of her nerves. I found myself getting considerable more MPG. Since then I am seriously considering revising my thinking and keeping it at 55 from now on.

RE: Winnebago with kitchen up front...your thoughts...

We have an Adventurer 38T and absolutely love it. We meet in the center living room while my wife cooks in the front. Cozy and practical. So far we have no complaint.

RE: steps won't come down

If you have a plug between the wiring and the step electronics, try that. I have a step that will freeze in or out. Depending when the connection fails. I tried contact cleaner with no success. Watch what the light is doing. No light, no power, shake and rattle the wires. Also, is the magnetic door switch working?

RE: dish network satellite tv

Yes, it is a pain but it is normal. Try this: before you go, set up the dish and turn on the TV and receiver. Let it run for awhile maybe overnight and it will set itself without you having to call. WORKS FOR ME!

RE: RV Shade Cord Spool

If you want to do it right, drill a hole and insert a very small "Molly" anchor. It will sandwich the wall panel and make a fool proof connection. Ask at the hardware store. They will give you detailed instructions on how to do it.

changing tv in '07 Winne Adventurer 38 front kitchen

Has anyone removed the TV over the fireplace? I would like to replace mine with a digital flat screen. Do I have to remove the fireplace to get to the TV mounting bolts? Sure hope not! Thanks

RE: Running toad engine while MH engine runs

When we stop I leave the MH run while I unhook the toad. My wife starts the toad engine to have AC while I am doing it. No blown fuses. Should I worry?
