RE: Emergency Road Service

Sounds like you cannot go wrong with either and whichever is least expensive! Both are good1

RE: New fridge not cold. What did I forget?

My A/C and Propane refer in my 10 yr old rig keeps icecream frozen, food cold. Takes about 8 hrs or maybe more to get to temperature to put in food in freezer but once started and up to temp keeps things the way they should be on A/C or Propane while traveling(I know you should not travel with propane on) and we are happy with it. Hope now that I have said it out loud that it will******out but ....

RE: New fridge not cold. What did I forget?

NOT sure how a 12 volt battery will not kill batteries but maybe you mean that you are plugged in, running inverter and charging the batteries from A/C while running the 12 volt battery. My RV fridge has worked for 10 years without ONE problem other than to get it to start on Propane I need to draw the propane with the stove and then start the fridge on propane but most time I start it on Electric and then when ready to roll, unplug and it starts on propane without problems and cools great. Freezer works fine.
To the OP just go and have the RV dealer figure it out and do not be embarrassed, that is how we learn and right now you do not have a fridge so go for goodness sakes.

IS it under warranty? Should be if new, bring to RV mechanic and have it fixed and stop trying to figure it out before the warranty is out.

RE: to chip or not to chip DURAMAX engine?

Chip does not help, I have a 2003 Duramax and on highway I get 21 mph, but when I tow I get about 10MPG so it is normal. Sometimes I get 11 MPG. IT is a fact of life towing, it is like a huge brick going down the road.

RE: Desperatly need help with slide out issue

did you really mean 2 6V batteries? Maybe need mroe than 12 volt in total. What kind of batteries and how many volt were they that were in there before? IF you are using 6 V batteries you may need more or maybe they are not hooked up right so you are only getting 6 Volts. Just a thought!

RE: Emergency Road Service

I am in the same boat, up for renewal with Coach-NEt and got a deal from GS in the mail. Says it is 22 cents a day which is 80 odd dollars a year but am sure it will go up next year. I have in 12 years had to use the service twice, one I had a MH which would not start and they sent a small pickup truck(Good Sam) so I switched to Coach-Net and had to get fuel and they were fine with that. I think I will go with whomever is cheaper since they use the same companies to tow and send as AAA and eachother so that does not matter. BOTH know how to tow a MH or fifthwheel and truck. BOTH are good, but if you are in a funky area then it is going to take time to get a tow truck out to you, Good Sam or Coach-Net!!

RE: 5th Wheel Fixed

I am glad to see KZ stepping up to fix the problem but you being so "grateful" astounds me. KZ should not have delivered such a messed up rig in the first place. I guess I have high expectations for manufacturers of RVs to deliver rigs without major flaws in the first place. These guys have most of us well trained to be grateful if they fix a huge mistake THEY made, why?
I just bought a car and expect it to start every day and go without having the engine stop at 60 mph, or have the steering wheel fall off etc. IF that were to happen then they would not be selling many cars for very long(YUGO comes to mind) so why think if the company take the car back and keeps it for months and then returns it to us later we should be happy? That is what RV owners do, forgive the RV manufacturers IF they fix delivery problems or problems that occur withing the warranty period with SOME success, or if not successful, they tried a number of times to fix and we are to be grateful??? WHY not expect to have a rig delivered in great shape? NOT sure where you live but go into a Lexus dealership and see how they are treating their customers, and how well built their cars are, that is my expectation of RVs and there is NO reason it cannot occur!!!! Stop being grateful to a company that cost you money AND TIME AND AGGRAVATION. We lose new RVers because of these kind of rig problems and the get discouraged.

RE: Sunnybrook Owners?

I think late 99=2004 the quality was super but then it was hit or miss and seems you got a good one. They still were a step above most other fiver companies. Real Wood and Well built for sure. Some were having problems with the build and things like caulking not done neatly and sink trim short or crooked, trim curtains and bedspreads were not of great quality but sounds like yours lucked out. Hope you love yours as I do mine, do not want to give it up.

RE: Sunnybrook Owners?

I have a 2002 Sunnybrook and LOVE it, cannot wait for them to come back with great quality!!! Which they lost in the years 2004-2009, too bad 'cause they had the best rig for the money. Winnebago is a great company, great quality except for their windshield problems and hope they make great fivers because at some point I will sell this one and buy a new one or slightly used one so want the quality I am accustomed to from Sunnybrook.

RE: Slip Plate,Pullrite Superglide

GREASE and when you get home use grease remover and again start the Slip Plate. I have an older unit and use grease on the way tracks and was using it on the hitch plate but was told now here not to use it there so use silicone or slipplate

RE: The wierdest thing happened yesterday while....

Good Sam Membership does not get you road service, you MUST buy Road Service separately from Good Sam or Coach-Net. About $89 or and worth every cent.
Batteries- IF you take out the batteries and put them in your cellar, yes trickle charge. No use in plugging in the rig in the barn with the batteries out of the rig and in your basement.
Batteries are good for 3-4 years sometimes and sometimes longer.
If I were you, given your learning curve I would get the RV tech to come and get you going and explain some of the systems to you. I would stop wasting money until the RV tech figures out what is going on, maybe a bad part that things are not charging etc. Maybe more than one problem. ??new rig to you? Maybe it had problems when sold to you if new to you. IS this your first rig? There is a big learning curve to using diesel rigs more so than gas rigs I think.

RE: The wierdest thing happened yesterday while....

Jimmy123 you did not answer the question, do you have a separate battery for your engine and the other are for the house? IF so, do not mix apples and oranges, your battery bank(house batteries) are for the house and not the engine part of the rig. IF you tested your batteries and one out 3 were dead yesterday and now two are dead, and you have 3 in total in house batteries sounds like they all were dead and you replaced one, and needed to replace 3. WAIT for RV tech to come and look things over. It maybe you have a drain on the house batteries somewhere like the HWH or many other places and needs to be figured out. I missed it but how old is the rig? Diesel or Gas? Do you have Coach-Net or Good Sam RoadService? IF so this would be when to call them if a RV tech cannot come out. They will help you. IF you do not have it this would be the time to buy it, cheap really for what the do and piece of mind etc..
Hope it gets fixed soon.

RE: The wierdest thing happened yesterday while....

I had a motorhome and the bank of batteries were for the HOUSE part of the rig and there was a battery in engine compartment(gas) for the engine to start etc. So do you start your engine from your battery bank or maybe the battery for the engine is dead and not in the 3 battery bank. Just a thought.
