RE: Dry camping with furnace on

Take the existing battery to an auto parts store that tests batteries for free (they can test it when while it's still installed). Then get either 1 or 2, depending on the test. Shop around - the auto parts store may or may not have the best prices.

RE: CO2 detector going off from??toilet gas??

1. Bad placement. 2. Possible off gassing from building materials (think foam in couch, bed, glue from assembly, the list is endless. It WILL go away eventually. 3. Units DO go bad, even when they're brand new. Remember the RV industry uses the CHEAPEST parts they can get. Got to an RV supply store and get a replacement.

RE: Microwave Oatmeal

....How about cream of wheat?.... From the Cream of Wheat webpage: "Cream of Wheatâ„¢ Original Enriched Farina is made with ground wheat, has a smooth texture and is an excellent source of iron and calcium. The traditional cook-on-stove product is prepared by boiling water or milk and slowly pouring in the ground wheat while stirring. Let it simmer while stirring for one minute after the ground wheat is blended. This product may also be cooked using a microwave oven for faster and easier preparation."

RE: Small Toy Hauler With Outside Storage or Seperate Garage

See signature for our TH. Take 2 quads with us all the time, with no problem. Turn the gas off, and run the carb dry, and you'll never have a gas smell or spill worry.

RE: Water pump

A big "IF" here.... If you develop a leak while you're not in the RV, you'll have water everywhere. For that reason, I only turn the pump on when I need it.

RE: Burro Schmidt's Tunnel Have you been there?

Couple of times, ride there from Dove Springs. Kind of a T shaped tunnel, you enter at the bottom of the T. At the intersection, the other entrance/exit is to the right. To the left is a dead end tunnel.

RE: Interesting find in tub drain

I got a wild hair somewhere one day, and decided to blow the dust (we did a lot of desert boondocking) out of the converter compartment. Thanks to the sloppiness of the Weekend Warrior workers, there were little slivers of aluminum in the compartment I didn't see, but were blown into the converter, which promptly shorted out in a spectacular fashion. Oh, well, upgraded to a better converter and all is well. I keep telling myself that.....
