RE: Truck Camper Moisture Meter

Thank you again. This is good information and I'm going to print it and put it with the rest of my collection. Bob

RE: Truck Camper Moisture Meter

Thank you. I think this is a really good tip. There are lots of places in a TC and other RV's that by the time you detect water it is too late and a lot of damage can result. Can you give us some percents that would indicate trouble? Bob

RE: Lance 820 water pump problem

Did you look to see if you had 2 valves under the sink? One is a bypass of the water heater and the other allows you to draw water directly from the antifreeze jug. Bob

RE: Battery hold down

Mine looks like ir is pop riveted to the back wall where you see those two "hooks. If you do this make sure you put backing on the reverse side of the wall. Bob

RE: No Bugs,Warm Weather, BC In September

Those are great pictures. We have been through there twice coming back from Alaska. Stopped in Pemberton and played a round of golf coming down from Lilloette. Boy that road coming down is something else. Had to stop twice once for two young girls with their brake smoking and again for a guy with a van off the road, glad I had a chain to pull him out with. Stopped at Whistler about 70 down below and 4 or 5 feet of snow up on the mountain. I'd love to go back anytime but with the gas I think it is a little far for my pocketbook and my 10 year old truck. Great report. Thanks Bob

RE: Does your TPO roof have bubbles and lifting?

It seems to me that if it is a 2012 and under warranty take it back to the dealer and tell him you want it fixed. How can the TPO lifting be normal and if it is normal who would want that? My Lance has the aluminum roof and I'm pretty satisfied with it. If the lifting seems excessive, take pictures and send the to Lance. The Lance factory has been pretty responsive when ever I have had questions Good luck and we'd all like to know how you make out. Don't be a pushover for them. Regards Bob

RE: Looking for info on a 2003 Lance Lite 845

I got out an 2003 Brochure and it does not say, but it does say that the mattress is standard in the Lance Slide out, Lance and optional in the Lance Lite. I know that the mattress in my 2002 was upgraded and that basically means a better mattress. Nowhere does it give measurements. I looked at the floor plans and they all look the same size. Lance is pretty good or used to be with information. I think if you call them they will give you that measurement. Sometime they want the serial number of the unit. Sorry I couldn't be more help, but do still have 02 Brochure if you need anything else PM me. Regards Bob

RE: Securing the front of my T/C

I think you can still buy "Belly Bars" from JC Whitney or Sears online. A Little old fashion but cheaper than some of the fancy new tie downs. Good Luck . Bob

RE: Lance Bunk bed over dinette question

The above pictures from Joe b. are what my 02 915 looks like also. You only need one sheet of Luan to cover the door side. The two pads could be made up of a couple of pieces of foam and covered. The net you should be able to purchase. If I were going to purchase it I'd try Lance directly first. We used the upper bunk on another TC years ago when we had a little one, but it is pretty tight. Good luck. We are pretty happy with our 915 which we were told is the heaviest TC that should be loaded on a 2500HD.

RE: Jammed camper jack

I have Atwood Jacks on my Lance 915 and they make strange noises often and I worry about them letting me down. There is a post on here from a fellow that removed his jacks one at a time, put them on his work bench and drilled a hole in the post just below the motor. He drilled a small hole in each so that he could squirt some oil into the mechanism below the motor. He drilled the hole from the bottom so that the savings/chips would not get in. A couple of suggestions I saw were to first try the hand crank and see if you can move them. Also they recommend extending the jacks fully and spray the inner shaft with a silicon spray then run them in and out a few times. This if the problem is mechanical, if it is something else, there are fuses I think located on the control board. Now you know all I know about them. Atwood is not very helpful and most suggest replacing the bad jack, but mostly they are only sold in 4's. By the way the book says to unplug the cable from the jacks to the camper to prevent back feeding juice to the control board if you are going to hand crank them or use a chuck in a drill to move them. Good luck Bob Try a search for Atwood Jacks on the Forum.

RE: Red Junction box under hood of truck?

Just retelling my story. My 2003 2500HD GMC ocasionally wouldn't start, battery dead, and although they replaced the battery it was still a problem. I started looking through the TSB's and found one that said there was a switch below the air bag on/off key lock that was intended for a Gumball machine on the cab roof and it was there even if you did not have the Gumball machine and if that switch got pushed, it picked a relay that remained picked drawing power from the battery even after the truck was shut down and would keep doing that until the switch was pressed again. Now the switch has a small LED light in it that comes on and off with the ignition, the relay remains pick and draws down the battery. Of course if you do not have that switch it wouldn't be your problem, it was mine. The document ID is 1712313. Email me with your email address if you want me to email the copy to you. Good luck Bob

RE: So what did you do to your Truck Camper today?

Today was the most depressing day of my year, so far. Put the cover on the camper put it to bed, that is unless we get it out for a Florida trip and that is still up in the air. Went last year for about six weeks and it was great. After the first of the year will probably get the itch again, we'll see. Bob

RE: Reno Air Race and Atwood jack servicing

Nice going with the Atwood Jacks. Mine are complaining when used and I kind of had the same idea and ran it by a few friends who kind of stuck up their noses with the idea. On my last camper that had Rieco Titans manual jack had the holes already there and I would shoot a little oil in each time I used it. I think I'm going to try it on mine. Hey better than buying new ones at the price they get for them. Thanks for the tip and measurements. Bob

RE: 06 lance 1191

I'm not sure if you have checked the NADA pricing guide on line, but it says an 06 1191 is worth between 22,765 and 27,436 depending on condition and accessories so it looks like you are good to go. Best of luck. Bob

RE: Harmonic Oscillations

You didn't say what TC you have, it's length, and weight, but if it is a Lance I'd go for the struts. They worked for me. Good luck. Bob

RE: BOONDOCKING SAFE ANYMORE??

I guess I need to ask a question here. A lot of the states around here do not recognize hand gun permits from other states. I once worked with a person from RI that hunted in NH he told me he had to get a permit just to pass through MA on his way from RI to NH. Is this true or a story. Thanks Bob
