RE: No Brakes on camper!!!!

There is a fuse in or near the PDC that controls the faulty functions you have cited. I can't find the info on the exact fuse but I think its DC1 or PC1. It was discussed many times over the years on various Ram forums. Its been a long time...

RE: Trustworthy Place Online for Laptop Batteries

I've purchased laptop batteries from eBay vendors and from an on-line vendor. All of the batteries have performed well. I have found the eBay sources to be less costly than the on-line vendors.

RE: Another tiresome laptop question

My OLD Toshiba Tecra 8000 does not have a caps lock light but it has a utility that shows the caps lock in the system tray.

RE: Dual booting New Vista PC with XP3?

lwmuddy,
Follow this link to set up a dual boot system with Vista loaded first. They also describe many other dual boot schemes. I was forced to set up a unit at work and these instructions worked out great.
I have the RC of Win7 and so far I am very impressed. It is running on an old 1.2G processor 512G memory Soyo board. It is very stable and runs better than I would have expected with the limited memory. The annoying security windows of Vista seem to be gone. I was able to set up an HP printer using compatibility mode for Vista which worked very well. I am a big XP fan but so far Win7 looks like a worthy replacement.

RE: Stubborn air conditioner

Is it a Dometic AC unit?
There was a recent recall of blower motors with this problem.

RE: Outlook 2007 - Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) Problem

I need Outlook functionality while on WIFI at various airports. A few years ago I contacted my ISP to find out the story on why I was having so many problems. They explained about port 25 blocking. They use 587 as the alternate port but I needed to also set Outlook to log in to my account when sending mail. It is set up in the second tab (Outgoing Server) under More Settings. I needed to set the check mark to "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication." and then set "Use same setting as my incoming mail." There is also an option to use a username and password if needed.

RE: Finished the Flip

Quad step for sure!
As for the upper shock mounts, rather than welding mine on I welded the (5/8") bolt to a steel plate which is bolted to the frame. Did you MIG or stick it?
Looks great. Now time to get out and enjoy...

RE: Axle Flip on new Jayco Superlite

My '04 Jayflight (sig pic) has the axles flipped (no jake plates) and I added Monroe shocks with homemade mounts. Monroe sells the kits to mount, though.

RE: Selling my RV

This thread is already 4 pages deep but here's my 2 cents.
When I sold my Dutchmen, the new owner paid in full before the transfer was made. I then sent all of the paperwork, including the title and Bill of Sale. They were able to register the trailer in their home state. They then sent the plate to me to attach to the trailer. I delivered the trailer a few states away and the new owner towed it home the rest of the way. It all went very smoothly.

RE: 05 RWD Dodge Front End, "Squank!" While Sharp Turning

It is most likely the steering stop rubbing as the suspension moves over the bump. Some grease will quiet the scrape.

RE: Storage area recovery after flat TV conversion

My plan do deal with this situation in my Jayco is to reclaim the additional space as bathroom storage. My plan is to make similar (but not necessarily exact) doors for inside the bathroom. The TV will mount on the new wall that will be installed in the entertainment center.

RE: Need help on 98 CTD

Bummer for your buddy. If it is a 24V they need to check to see if the electric lift pump is working. Its easy with a tool box fuel pressure gauge. If it works then they need to crack as many injectors as they can get to. I think I have easy access to 3 on my '01. It'll start rough (gotta shut down to tighten the injectors) but smooth out in no time. Ether can do some real damage. It says not to use it right on, or next to, the air filter housing.

RE: Trailer Ligthing

I had halogen driving lights mounted under the forward section of the frame (facing back) on my old Dutchmen. These lights were to illuminate the tires and surrounding area. They, as well as a set mounted on the rear bumper, were actuated via the back-up light circuit. A separate switch would allow them to be turn on briefly for tight situations.
