RE: Where to buy replacement square drive screws

I believe I bought some at Home Depot.
I poked them through a piece of cardboard and sprayed them white so they look like they were original, and then installed them.

RE: Light Weight & Durable

Solid walls are nice to have in bear country.
We have a 17' Casita and it works well for the two of us. The bed is always a bed, the dinette is always a dinette and it is comfortable for sitting and reading or watching TV. It does have a "wet" bath, but that has not been a problem. At 2300 pounds it tows very nicely with our Chevy blazer 2wd. It is much easier to set up than any of the pop-ups that we owned in the past.
We don't stay in any one place for a long time, so we prefer easy travel to large size housing.

RE: Light Weight & Durable

A 20' hybrid will be heaver than a 20' standard TT. The hybrid requires more structure to compensate for the large bed openings. This is also true of units with slideouts.
My experience is that manufacturers who make large trailers focus their product development on the large (high profit) units at the expense of the smaller ones. A company that only makes small units must focus on those small units.
You need to define your personal needs, beds, space, etc and work from there.

RE: Making reservations

We have been camping since 1968. We have made reservations about 3 times. The most recent was at Fishing Bridge in Yellowstone NP and they got it wrong. There was a vacant space available, so we were not turned away.
The Oregon coast can be tricky in summer.

RE: New Gas Rant

My cousin built an electric car. The problem was that after he crossed the railroad tracks the trains cut his extension cord in two.

RE: a little Organization help, please

Poor man's organizer: Find a cardboard box that just fits the space. Paint it and it will last for years. Instead of getting down on all fours to hunt for things, just pull the box out for access.

RE: Ageing and RVing

We have an RV club with 400 members here in Sun City West AZ. A couple of years ago we went down the Baja in caravan with 12 rigs. There was a widow lady who turned 80 while on that trip. She did have her daughter with her, but the daughter didn't want to drive. She was afraid of damaging "Mommys motorhome".
Housing here ranges from regular private homes to assisted living. Population 30000. All 55+. I am 76 and still going.

RE: How Things Have Changed in 45 Years...

My "kids" are now in their 40s. When they were teenagers they could not imagine the nation being without the Interstate highways.
They swore that we were the last ones in the entire state to get a color TV.
They loved the old convertible cars that we had.

RE: How Things Have Changed in 45 Years...

When I was a kid I was a fan of the Avengers with Patrick MacNee (Steed) and Diana Rigg (Peel).
It was a British spy show and the two main characters Steed and Peel were spy, or secret agent partners.
The show was made and set in the '60's and it was very democratic for the time....Mrs. Peel was on equal footing with John Steed.
She was a strong woman who could more then handle her own, in the secret agent business...fighting, thinking, etc.
Yes she wore rather ap'peel'ing (get it : Mrs. Peel...appeal..:R):D)leather motorcycle one piece suits, but then Steed dressed like a rather modern British gentleman.
Great show...still in my mind, there has not been it's equal and it was very advanced and progressive for it's time.
I saw a picture of Diana Rigg recently. She has become an old lady, but still attractive. The Avengers was a great show.

RE: Two Tone Automobiles

nope but then (if I remember correctly) when Henry Ford introduced the model T he said you could have it in any color you wanted as long as it was black :b:b:b
Ford used black because it dried faster than colors did. He wanted to get them out and sold.

RE: Antenna TV reception at home???

We have had a chronic problem with both our old set/converter and our new HD flat panel. Eventually we figured out that it was only on channel 8 Phoenix. After a few months of this, they finally put a message on the screen saying they were moving the studios and signals may be spotty.
