RE: RGV where do you go to fax something at a reasonable cost?

Just ask Scottiemom to train you when we get to the valley, Shirley. She sent and received all the documents to sell our house via her tethered cellphone. $$$$$$$ Plus she's scanned in some old photos and medical documents and sent them via our Datastorm and Aircard also. Works great!!
BTW She works cheap if a glass or two of sweet wine is involved.

RE: FMCA, FAM MOTORCOACH ASSC.

PA, Passport America is not a membership "club" but basically a 1/2 price site rental program vendor. The other two are camping membership "clubs or associations" offering insurances, trip planning, tech support, rallies and the like. FMCA is open to motorhome owners only and is a non-profit organization. Good Sam is open to all campers/rvers and is a part of the for-profit Affinity Group.

RE: Need Advice; Wal-Mart or RV Park along IH20

Lefleurs Bluff State Park I55 Exit 98, 4 miles north of I20 @ Exit 46. This State Park is just east of Jackson (almost downtown). Mississippi State Parks are very nice

RE: Memphis, what to see, where to stay

"If" they are Elvis fans, try the RV park behind the Heart Break Hotes across the street from Graceland. Also, if looking for country music, we would highly recommend Nashville over Memphis, FYI.
When inquiring about the RV parks in the Graceland area of a police captain, I met at an accupuncturist, Dale was having treatments from a few years back. His response was "It's pretty rough, We don't dispatch a two-man car to that area at night, unless there is a second two-man car that will be at the same location."

RE: Has anybody ever replaced the couch in their fiver?

Though not a fiver, we removed the non-functioning "replacement" sofa bed that came with our '98 Intruder and replaced it with jack-knife sofa with custom storage platform. I un-upholstered the arms and back about 10", cut it apart rather that remove the entry door (as the previous owner did) or windshield. I reassembled the sofa with "mending plates" and oak blocks. It has been used by our son for 6 years now, in college, his 1st apartment and now in his 1st house. We replaced one of the jack-knife sofas in our '06 DP with 2 recliners and a custom file cabinet/work center. The factory sofa dis-assembled by removing 8 bolts in the frame from each end. The back, seat, frame, fascia beneath the seat and arms, all were easily carried out through the entry door. The "new" recliner backs "snap on" via spring clips.

RE: Jayco Seneca or Monaco Dynasty

Not a Monaco owner, but I've thought about a Super C as a possible future RV just for service alone. No greasy techs on the inside of the rig for engine compartment checks and service. Shouldn't be charged extra on service since it's basically a standard truck chassis with a "different" box in back.

RE: Bug splaters and general cleaning

A couple of tablespoons of Seventh Generation dish soap (organic based) in two gallons of water removes bugs quickly on our 3-M mask. We also use it for a spot remover before tossing clothes in the wash.

RE: Open Road replacement parts

Check with RV Surplus & Salvage in Elkhart IN. They may have purchased some of the Pilgrim inventory at the plant liquidation. If not, they have had many different skirts on hand in the past.

RE: Winni vs. Damon

Winnebago hands down, very little factory service available at Damon. That was our main reason for choosing another brand when we owned a Intruder.

RE: NEW TO NTG

Yes there are little containers made to hold nitros. Ours are small and contain an inner vial in which to put the tablets. Both DH and I carry them on our keyrings in case he needs it. You could put the vial on a necklace. I do think that body heat can cause some deterioration. They don't last long. They will turn to powder after awhile.

RE: Quick question about sanitizing fresh water system

Since we have no gravity fill, I put about about 1/2 cup of bleach in our fresh water hose then fill the tank (100 Gallons), pump out water, refill and pump out again. Then we're are ready to use the tank, without any chlorine taste.

Yes we have, a lot easier to sleep and think. We also retract the automatic awning when experiencing gusts with low winds.

RE: Tire sidewall cracking - need opinion

Have you looked at the bottom of the tread?
We had a 4 year old motorhome, that we purchased in 2002. The tire side-walls had very slight weather checking and were within 5 years of the of the "born-on" date. However deep in the tread, you could see cracks down to the "cords", after one trip to FL. A very unsettling sight indeed.
