RE: Double slide travel trailers

OP here. Yes, Sandia. 30 ft bumper to hitch. Thanks for the links and suggestions. Just a little too long. Wondering if I could find the features I'm looking for in a fifth wheel under 30 ft.

Disney All Star Resorts

Grandma and I will be meeting our children and grandchildren at Disney World next month. We will be at Ft Wilderness. They will be staying at the All Star Movie Resort. Anyone familiar with the Disney transportation system? Assume buses run between the 2 places. Wonder how far apart they are in miles and if using my TV would be easier/ quicker. Thanks

We spent a few days last summer at 7th Ranch RV Park in Garryowen. Very nice. Bighorn Battlefield was very sobering. Glad we didn't pass it by.

RE: Camping near, but outside NYC

We took our tt to Liberty Harbor this summer. Not a fancy place but exceeded our expectations for facilities and convenience for travel to NYC. Traffic and maneuvering was not a problem. We live on I81 and took I81 to I78 which becomes part of the NJTP. All interstate travel until the last mile or two. One right turn on Marin Blvd, go to end and there you are. Many big rigs. Wouldn't want to stay there in the summer without a/c so reservations may be necessary. I wasn't looking forward to NYC either but I'm looking forward to going back this spring.

RE: Sacramento To Reno

We encountered snow in early June this year traveling from Sacramento to Reno on I80. Spent a night at Auburn because we didn't have chains required for crossing Donner Pass. The climb to Donner Summit is long but not particularly steep as I recall. Original plan was to use US 50 but changed routes at the last minute due to the weather. We were pulling 6000 lb with a 5.4L. With your power and gearing, I doubt you'd notice. Enjoy.

RE: Route 16 from I-90W to Rafter J

We drove Rt 16 from Newcastle into Custer this past Summer. It is a little winding, a little narrow and a little steep for a short stretch as you enter SD. No problem for a tt so I doubt you'll have any problem. Very scenic. We'd go that way again.

RE: Alaska cruise 2012 info.

Since "current thinking" is a cruise perhaps the Alaska Marine Highway ferries would be an option.

RE: Woods RV Park, Montgomery, AL

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. Sounds like a toss-up. Oh well, I prefer having choices. And Norm, we stayed at Sherling Lake 2 years ago on the way south. Very nice park.

Woods RV Park, Montgomery, AL

Looking to spend a couple days in Montgomery later this winter on the way to FL. Checked RV Park Reviews: Dec '11 reviewer gives it (Woods RV Park) 5 stars. Nov '11 reviewer says it's run down, electrical problems, etc. Gives it half a star. Another Nov '11 reviewer gives it 3 stars. We like the location since we'll be traveling I65. Capitol RV park looks ok but off the interstate. Any forum members stay at Woods?

RE: Baltimore,Maryland area

Assume you're traveling I71 to I70. Rambling Pines is off I70 well before I695. Patapsco Valley would also be off I70 taking US40 at the I70/US40 split. We've camped at the state park and thought it was very nice. I'd access the KOA at Millersville by taking US29 exit from I70 to MD100 to I97. Take MD3 at the I97/MD3 split. None of these routes require towing on the Beltway (I695) which is actually no big deal if you avoid rush hours. We've also stayed at Bar Harbor (years ago) and enjoyed it. You'd take the Beltway north toward Towson to I95 or US40. Do not know whether I95 would require toll but I'd avoid it if it did. Hope this rambling helps. BTW Hagerstown is at the junction of I70 & I81.

We stayed at Country Oaks in Kingsland. Very nice. Then spent a day at the Folkston Funnel and Okefenokee Swamp. Don't know about Trader Hill except what I read on Freecampgrounds.com.

RE: Can't Find Leak - Help!

We had a leaky skylight in our '96 Jayco or so we thought. Caulked and taped and caulked that skylight and it still leaked. Then caulked and re caulked the bathroom vent pipe. Still leaked. Finally gave up and carefully checked the obvious. The roofing material looked good but a close inspection revealed a half dozen quarter to eighth inch slits in the rubber sheeting between the skylight and the vent. Eternabonded it and no more leak. Found other small slits/splits in both front corners.
