RE: For you Ford 6.7L owners

GM on the other hand has warrantied all failures in their vehicles. How do you know GM has warrantied all repairs? Because no one has come on RV.NET and said theirs wasn't? Because no one has came on an internet forum and said so? I don't think everyone comes on the internet when they have problems. I actually think there are some owners who don't even know the forums exist. Of the Ford denials, I think of the 4 I have saw, some had a Titan tank installed. Of course all said that wasn't a problem even though water can get in fuel system if not installed correctly, and I thought I read some had to have their installation re-done. Of course they never bought bad fuel, even though some pull RV's and travel, meaning they use different stations. And yes, as hard as it is to believe, I think a truck stop that goes through alot of fuel, can still have bad fuel. I am sorry that theirs wasn't warrantied, but so far I have only heard 1 side of the story, theirs. But I say, let everyone go on and worry themselves to death. I just finished loading up the truck, going to hook up the fiver in the morning, and grin as I enjoy my truck as I go camping this weekend.

RE: F-350 first 5ver tow

Your temps are fine. If you don't have a monitoring system let me suggest a ScanGuage II and watch the trans, oil and water temps to be sure. The stock gauges are useless. Why are the digital read out I have from factory for the oil and tranny temp useless? How is the scangauge more accurate than them? My Info Center gauges show the same values for EOT and TFT as my Edge Insight. I assume the ScanGauge would show the same thing for those 2 values. I think Billieg2 is referring to the usefulness of the analog dash gauges. Yes, I was talking about the analog dash gauges. That is why I was asking how my digital gages were useless.

RE: F-350 first 5ver tow

Temps are about same as mine. On flat, oil runs in the low 200's and pulling through the mountains on steep climbs I have got into the 230's, but not hot enough for the fan to kick on. Tranny runs same as yours too.

RE: New 5er Ordered!

Congrats on the new rig. Our first rig came from Crowder and couldn't ask for a better dealer or service department. Need pics when it comes in.

RE: Woodsmoke Campground, Unicoi, TN

The Woodsmoke in Unicoi TN is not near any lake. It is a small campground, owners live on site. Nice sites, all in the woods, very clean. Been 5 years since I was there, but nice, good place for a stay if you are doing something in area. No activities at the campground itself.

RE: Recommended CG near Asheville, NC

I will 2nd Lakewood. Stayed there for 2 years and really liked it. Nice sites, very clean and great onsite owners who will go out of their way to help. Summer fills up with full timers who come back every year. Pool, wifi, game room, onsite laundry and even a work out room with some equipment. More of an adults park but children are allowed, just not much for them to do.

RE: Lake Hartwell SC/Ga

Here is a listing of the COE parks on the lake. You can click on the site map and it will let you look at pictures of each individual site. Our favorite is Oconee Point. We also like Springfield, but all are good.

RE: Let's play "where is the diesel pump?" game

Diesel pump is easy to find. It is always the one with the puddle in front of it.

RE: Just drove the new F350 home

Congrats on the new truck. They are a pulling machine. Need to post some pics. I have never met anyone who has had to sign this "form" either. I see the usual group has started in to change this thread into a bashing event as they do with all the other threads.

RE: Ford F-350 6.7L Dually 4x4 or Chevy 3500 LTZ 6.6 L

I went through this same decision late last year, having had an '02 then '07 Duramax's. After driving and comparing all the big 3, you can see in my sig a 2012 F-350 King Ranch. Best truck I have ever owned. Just finished my first trip puling fiver across mountains from Tenn. to South Carolina and back and couldn't be happier. Truck is pulling machine, braking worked great contrary to the non Ford owners observations, electronics package on the Ford is way ahead of others, and the interior is very comfortable compared to my last truck. After all is said, if I were you, I would go drive both on the same day and compare what you think. Take a look at all the trucks have to offer, interiors, capacities, options you want, electronics, does the seat fit your butt, etc. It is your money, so buy what you like best. Both are good trucks and will get the job done.

RE: Gas Mileage 2012 Ford F350 Dually Diesel 6.7L

2012 F-350 CC LB dually, get around 17+ mostly mixed city/highway. Pulling 14K fiver, on mostly flat land trip 11.7, just finished trip across mountains from Tenn. to South Carolina and back, averaged 11 MPG. Truck has 1800 miles, so not even broke in yet.

RE: Screen cover for large rear window on fiver.

Had a business that does the window coverings for class "A's" do the windows on my fiver. Makes a world of difference. With direct sun hitting window it really cuts down on the heat. Can leave inside shades up if you want, cuts that much heat down.

RE: Winston-Salem, NC to Johnson City, TN

I would take I-77, I-81 to I-26 to Johnson City depending on where you are staying here. You could also take I-40 to I-26, but you have a couple of good mountain pulls, nothing your rig couldn't handle. Having drove 321 and 421 alot, I wouldn't consider pulling my 5th wheel across them. I know what the back of my camper looks like and have no desire to see it from the cab of my truck while driving, which you will on 421. I know of no campgrounds in Johnson City, so depending on where you are staying you might not have to go all the way to I-26 if on I-81.

RE: Tonneau cover for 2012 F150

Just put the Extang Trifecta on mine, like it alot. Had a roll up on previous truck, prfer the tri-fold I have now. Takes a couple of minutes to put on or take off by myself. Truckaddons was running a special on the canvas top, step above the vinyl.

RE: Fordman and your Landmark Grand Canyon

Ford Man, Bought a Montana from Crowder's and my Jayco came from Campers Corner. Agree that they seem very nice at RV's for Less, really haven't heard any negative. Will the slide out covers be color matched to your paint or are they white?

RE: Fordman and your Landmark Grand Canyon

Ford Man, Did you get the new outside TV option? Or the eletric awning over the door side slide out? Saw this at RV's For Less and really liked. Like you, looked at Mobile Suites, but think it is going to be out of our range. Also saw the Redwood at Chillhowee RV and liked them. Need pics when it arrives.
