RE: Need a little help on finding a part here....

I'm glad to hear someone else had this part go bad also. I ordered one from Lichstinn RV in Forest City, IA. I would hazard to guess they are the same part put onto many brands of RVs. I'm sure if you measure it from point to point and call they will assist in your replacement. Enjoy SD!

Rear axle cover

While tooling down the road Sunday, Freightliner Evolution chassis, 2007, 22.5 tire size, I lost a right rear, chrome, axle cover. This is secured with one bolt that is attached to a bracket attached to the black metal axle cover plate. Does anyone know a source other than Freightliner for these covers? Or last resort Part Number from Freightliner.

RE: CHICAGO: Where to park 33ft RV for sightseeing?

The park-n-ride (free) in Oswego, IL (Orchard at Mill Rds) take the shuttle bus to the train station in downtown Aurora, IL the Burlington Northern commuter train to Chicago and now you are in the heart of Chicago free to go any direction. After a delightful day of site seeing reverse the trip and dry camp in the park-n-ride.

RE: Chicago rv park - Help

The campground at the Empress Casino has been shutdown along with the hotel and casino since their fire. We had friend recntly try to stay there--but during construction casino closed everything down. The Yogi Bear in Millbrook, IL is nice and within your parameters of 30 to 50 from south side. Or Illini State Park in Marseilles which is 50-60 miles but more reasonable for an extended stay and Kankakee State Park in Kankakee, IL 30-35 miles away. Wouldn't it have been great if when Mayor Daley tore out Miegs Field to have converted that to a campground!!!!! (With restrictions of course--so all could have enjoyed the city.)

RE: West to East AROUND Chicago to Goshen

Seriously being a frequent travel of the "Chicago Cluster" as you term it. It isn't so much the roadway itself but rather WHEN you choose to traverse that area. My humble advice pick very early in the morning or very late in the evening so that you avoid the surge of rush hour traffic flowage one way or the other. Best advice pick a lane, sit back, set the cruise control, let the nuts fly by left right up down etc and befoire you know it your home free on the Indiana Tollway. If that doesn't please you a two lane route we soemtime take Rt 47 at Morris, IL down to Rt 17 east toward Kankakee, IL to Rt 1 north to Rt 14 into IN to Rochester, IN then north on Rt 25 to Rt 15 into Goshen, IN. It is two lanes but a nice pace across the countryside.

RE: Campground suggestion near I-70 in Illinois?

Not on I70 but not out of your way would be to swing alittle south and go to the Casino Queen RV Park in East St Louis, IL. Can accomodate you along with your pets.

RE: Camping near Rochester MN

Congratulations on your son's residency at Mayo's. He'll learn from the best! I'll testify to that care. Now onto your request. The folks before me choose all the right places in an around Rochester. We favor coming across at LaCrosse, WI going thru Lansboro, Harmony (Take an Amish tour. Don't miss a stop in the Amish folks front yards where you see the little sheds. Once inside the sheds you'll find baked goods to die for, furniure, baskets, crafts, canned goods, jellies, etc.) Upon arrival in Rochester we have favored Autmn Woods RV Park a little bit out from town but shuttle avaible to go to the Clinic etc. At the clinic itself be sure to take the guided tour thru the clinic (Starts down stairs near the elevator) If bad weather is present have no fear everything is connected via subways or catwalks through the entire downtown area. After your walking tour come back to the lower lobby and sit down to listen to the folks who sit down at the baby grand piano to play, sing, etc to the enjoyment of the patients and visitors. (It shocks me to see a child crawl up onto the piano bench and play like a concert pianist. Yes mom I should have practiced!) As you can see my wife and I look forward to our visits to the clinic and our exploring of the area. We seen so much but there's more to see. Enjoy Rochester!!! If you've not had a good phyical do it at Mayo's!
