RE: Is it possible to have dual solar syatems in my TC?

My controller varies the output voltage based on the battery voltage to maximize the amps to the battery. Solar Boost 2000E. It has 2 panels on the input connected in parallel (same size panels).

RE: Host Everest TC

We have a single slide out Yukon Host, which we like a lot. One thing about the multiple slide outs is that in some you need to open them in order to get into the camper. We can use our Yukon quite well with the slide out in at a rest area. I think Host is asking a large down payment from its dealers now, so they are hesitant to stock them.

RE: Who all makes side entry campers?

What I like about our Host Yukon, single slide out, is that you can enter and use it with the slide out in - a lot of multiple slide truck campers require you to move a slide out in order to get in the camper.

RE: 2009, 141 nights traveling in TC plus Table of Cont

Was up at the Granger mine doing some consulting last summer. They mine Soda Ash from the underground prehistoric lake bed, both room and piller and long wall mining. Extensive underground mines north of 80.

RE: How to clean up your rusty SS fast guns

A lot of the higher stainless steels can become brittle and prone to cracking, a problem in threaded applications - a steel with more carbon is tougher, but prone to some rusting.

Gee, lets jump on the guy. I read it that he has a US made product and no-one in France has seen it before.

RE: Removing factor overload pads/install stable loads question

I put them on my 08 350. Just used a couple of big screw drivers to pry off the old ones. Took a little bit of effort. Made a noticeable difference in the ride. Putting Bilsteins on made more of a difference though. Have Firestone airbags also.

RE: Ford reprograms computor , more diesel mpg?

Ok how do you find out if you need or want this reflash? I have a 2008 F450 but when I check the Ford site with my VIN it says there are no recalls available. Can you just go to the dealer and say I want this flash?
Its not a recall, its a 'customer satisfaction program' so it wouldn't show up on your check.
Ford is sending letters out staggered, so you may not have gotten yours yet. It also includes installing a little plastic venturi in the radiator vent line to help prevent radiator cracking.
You can just call the dealer, but they may be stacked up with trucks to do - its good until Dec, 09.
Mileage improvement has been mixed, some a lot better, some no change and some worse on Ford Truck Enthusiast web site. Of course, Diesel only, not gassers.

RE: 12 ft garage door ? will a hardside fit?

My 4x4 with a basement and an air conditioner is 11' 11". I can probably reduce that by 2" if I deflate my air bags

RE: Camping for Inauguration?

We stayed at the campgroud at the northern intersection of 95 and 495 Cherry Hill Park last fall. It was a great place, high end RV park, but they didn't sneer at our TC, and there were some pop-ups there.
They had a metro bus from the campground running to the rail line at the UMd College Park station that you could then take into DC. As a fairly inexpensive way to see DC without bringing a car into the city it was great.

RE: Taking camper off truck with slide out-out

If you can have the camper on jacks with the slide out, why not take it off the truck with the slide out? As long as you don't bump the camper as you are driving off.

So how do you get the snow off the top of the camper? Is that what the step ladder is for in the background of the pic with the GMC truck?

RE: In-cab control for air bags ?

I have a manual system with the fill valves at the fuel nozzle. I use a large bicycle pump, the tubular kind that rests on the ground, and I get 5 psig per stroke.

If you get an easypass for the truck, you specify yourself how many axles and tires you have. Maine has a Class 2, two axle, six tire rate.

RE: Overhead clearances

We have the Thule Crossfoot adapter, which saves 2 or 3 inched on the height of the bar, with kayaks flat, we are at 13' 2". We bought a truckers atlas that has truck routes marked in orange, and low bridge heights on those routes. If you go off the orange route, you are on your own.

I was in Jersey over the weekend, gas was 1.41, diesel (even at the truck stops) was 2.45. What gives?
