RE: Anti seize as brake caliper lube

The Big Problem with using Anti Seize is that It allows you to Over Torque ! This of course causes all sorts of problems later! On Parts that are supposed to move I'm sure that Anti Seize will be just fine but on Parts the are supposed to be secure You should be very careful using it!Torque values are set both wet and dry. Use the wet torque when lube is used.

RE: odometer increasing while towing Jeep Wrangler

Thanks everyone. Looks like I just moved the key too far forward. I'll try the first position and see if the odometer display does not illuminate.
Our display is illuminated when the key is in the proper position. It does not rack up miles. Follow the owner's manual to the "t". A Jeep is a great toad!
IT'S A JEEP THING!

RE: steps not fully retracting

I just use spray-on "white grease" on mine. Pick up at any auto parts store.

RE: motorcycle w/ sidecar - best way to tow?

I use an enclosed trailer to haul my trike. Drop down rear door. I place foam tubes on the cables on the door if I might get too close to them.

RE: engine belt???????

It is low cost insurance to change out belt. You will be surprised on how much the belt has stretched. Keep the old one as a spare. Easy job to change. I have about 45k miles and my belt was replaced at about 22k miles. Also change the sparks. Even though they should last 100k. Change out at about 40K miles. Did mine and picked up about 1MPG. If fuel filter has not been replaced, replace and keep the old one as spare.
I can understand all but your last sentence. I can not imagine keeping a used (gasoline filled) fuel filter.
If your engine is still running on the old filter and you get some dirty gas, plug the installed filter out in the "wild". You can install the old filter and get back on the road.

RE: Gas engine with more torque than diesel?

Attack any problem like it has not been done before! Do not look at it with "blinders " on. Let your imagination run wild.

RE: Interior Screws Falling Out

Take a wooden match stick, place it in the hole and replace the screw. Leave some of the stick out side of the hole when replacing the screw, break of the excess. Works great.

RE: Problem getting key out of ignition

It's just a W/H thing. Just push the gear shift handle toward the dash when you have it in "park". This will solve you problem. Been there and done that.

It is just like an O/D switch. Use it the same as if you were driving a car with an O/D off on.

RE: towing my jeep wrangler

Make sure the fan is off! I left mine on and had a dead battery in about 5 hours. Otherwise, I do not disconnect anything.
