RE: New Digital TV Antenna

to get weak signals, you have to get the best antenna (gain) you can afford & fit where you want it. Next get an amplifier with 10 to 20 db gain, and the highest stnr (signal to noise ratio) you can afford. the 2 part units are better, 1 part is the power injector, the actual amp is located on the antenna, for the best signal. the last thing would be to locate the antenna as high as you can, a few 10' mast sections, based on the ground and sttached to your ladder and you can get an antenna 20' or 30' up without to much effort.

RE: Trouble Getting out of Safe mode - Vista

could be a hardware failure, or the harddisk is dieing. usually the fix is either super easy, or you are toast. If the restore point doesn't fix the problem, and there is no new hardware, and you have scandisked the drive, then the easy fixes have been tried. Unplug everything but the power cord, and try booting again. if that doesn't help you may need pro help.

RE: Woot!! Huge TV Upgrade

you will enjoy having the tv outweigh the trailer. keeps the trailer from pushing the tv around. I have a MAJOR difference pulling by 31' tt with my wifes 3/4 diesel, and my dually diesel. up hill or down makes no difference, it is the crosswinds, and semis passing. Windgusts are exciting in the 3/4, boring in the dually. I think the extra tires make all the difference in the world keeping trailers inline.

RE: Question about using for snowmobile

plastic bedliner to park on, and some 3/8" plywood for the ramp. When you are nose down, the water will pool in the liner, when you are nose up, it will drain out the back (and into the hinge at the base of the door). If you have studs, you will need plywood in the liner also, or you will poke holes, and it won't hold water.

RE: 3500 SRW or 3500 DRW

My 07 classic cc/lb/diesel/dually is WAY more stable then with the trailer then my wifes 08 cc/sb/diesel. The only real differences is the sb/lb, and 4 wheels vs 6 wheels. I doubt on a TT the sb/lb is THAT major, so it leaves the dually. One would assume the 08 would be better then the 07 classic, so what is left..

RE: Dealer prep & walk thru

I got fast talked on mine, MANY dealers want it, FEW dealers don't want anything. I would get the price set, and tell them no on the walkthrough (money). My walkthrough took 20 minutes, and the dealer checkout missed the non working oven (they fixed it after I complained), the water heater that needs to be cycled 3 times to get it to run on propane, the tv amp was dissambled, and shoved into the wall, 1 propane tank was bad (bad opd valve), and a missing window screen in dinnette (they are on the inside, so it didn't blow off on the road). They charged me $120 bucks for the screen, I had to replace the tank (I took it as a sign to upgrade from 1 (working) 30# tank to 2 40# tanks). I put the amp back together, and live with the water heater. For 1K+ I would expect them to know more about the unit then I did an hour after getting it home.

RE: Separating stop and turn signals on a trailer

the only way to tell between the brakes, and the hazzard lights is to wither tun a chmsl line, or sample the trailer brakes. The easiest would be to tap the power for the electric brakes, to trip a relay. Actually to trip a ssr to power the lights. somthing along the lines of one of these:
http://tinyurl.com/yhz85x2
The D1D20L will be on from ~3.5 volts to 32 volts. and power 20 amps of lights.

RE: Could you live without your bike door?

I have yet to put a bike in mine, but the doors work great for the playpen, (it is the last in, and first out when we go camping) and the stroller.

RE: More Fuel

Replacement tanks do not give more fuel than in-bed tanks.
True, but he didn't say that... He said it gives you more fuel, period.
As in, more fuel than the stock tank, which is the goal here.
yes, that is what I was refering to...
If you wanted max fuel, look at this:
190 gallon fuel tank

RE: Question About Blowing air through water lines

put your water regulator on the city water inlet, attach your air source to that. If it limits the water pressure, it should limit the air pressure. first open all the drains, and all the sinks / tub / outside shower. after the water stops flowing, put on the air. then start closing the sinks ets. leave the low point drains open. you will get almost all the water out. some rv antifreeze in the traps & blacktank and you should be fine. If you get really board, drain the waterheater. most of the water will already be out of it.

RE: More Fuel

the two options are a larger- replacement tank, on a in-bed tank. Some in-bed tanks are tall & thin to provide 20-40 gallons with less then 1' of bed loss, some are sized to put a toolbox on top, some have builtin toolboxes. there are 3 or 4 replacement tanks on the market, transferflow.com & titantank.com are two of the bigger outfits. The replacement tanks give you more fuel, the factory guage works correctly, there is no loss of bed space.

RE: Question for gm 3500 dually owners about tire monitors

if your dually has tmps, it should be on all 6, and you need 4 sensors, if not you need 10 sensors..

RE: Dually flat tire ?

the big danger of driving on a flat, is if it breaks the bead, if an inner, it can wrap around the brakes, springs, and take out the bed/fender, if the outer, it can take off down the road without you. The heavier the load the more likely you break a bead..

RE: Tires rubbing underside of trailer

inflation does nothing for rubbing on the top, the tire only gets "flat" on the bottom. The plywood on top of the tires doesn't look like it should be there. Did you,or the dealer put ti there to armor against a blowout? I have NO exposed plywoon anywhere, it is all covered by some type of barrier to keep water off it.

RE: Help tapping into propane line

I think the extend a stay goes between the tanks and the regulator, so it is high pressure. Tapping off copper / black pipe is after the regulator, and low pressure. My trailer has 2 lengths of black pipe under it, the bles hose connects the regulator to the front piece, and at the joing between the two is a cross, with a line for the fridge, and a external shutoff/wuick disconnect. the second pipe rund farther back to a tee for the water heater, and furnace. The easist place to tap into the black pipe would be at the front, or if your setup is like mine with 2 pieces, change from a tee to a cross (if you have a tee) for an extra port.

RE: Trailer Shed Height?

I would go 14', you won't find a rv ofer 13'6". The extra 6" won't hurt anything, and at least on mine the FM antenna sticks up well over 15". It would have to bend doem to fit, the extra 6" would help alot with this. Assuming an A-frame for the shed, you would have ample room above the unit - in the rafters to do work on the roof.

RE: RL to BH advice

I have a bunkhouse, and the kids love it (12,3,1).. er My DW and I love it after the kids have gone to bed.. The smaller living room is a tradeoff, but we use the trailer as a break area on road trips, and hotel at Disneyland, and various grandparents houses. Beats several inflate a beds in the living room, and dealing with people that don't sleep at night. When we upgrade to a bigger unit, it wll either be a larger 5er BH, or a TH. The jacknife bed is nice, it sets up in 1 second, but whoever is sleeping on it wakes up when the first person makes a coffee run.

RE: Calling all tire experts

The larger tires will effect brakeing, for the worse. Make sure you readjust your controler after the tires. You will have to bump it to overcome the extra leverage of the new tires.

RE: How low of a tire pressure can i run?

when you aie down, air all 6 down. the front tires won't pull you over things, but with lower air pressire they will be shoved over things easier. People with trailers lower the trailer pressure in sand for the same reason. Remember, lower pressure, lower speed!!!!
