RE: Carefree awning won't retract

Your carefree awning could have a generic problem with the hub between the motor and the aluminum roller. What has happened to others is the the hub is just slid on to the motor shaft with a single flat side. With use the hub will round out and you lose the drive to the awning roll. Check with Carefree as they have a new design hub and motor assembly. Depending on age of your awning and your smooth talking they might cover the repair.
As a quick fix the hub on the other end of the awning is identical and with a little mechanics you could swap them.

RE: fuel tank

SacsTC,
I had the same problem on my '07 Endeavor. I applied a lot of JB Quik Weld and as you said the seeping fuel did not let the epoxy set up quick enough. A heavy equipment operator suggested that I apply bar soap, I know it sounds strange, to the weeping area. Sure enough the weep stopped and I was then able to apply the epoxy to a dry surface to seal the area. It is still holding. It is worth a try.

RE: Trans Temp Gauge

Rad1,
I have owned a '02 and a '07 Endeavor. In both of the coaches
the transmission temperature gauge showed very little response.
I did some research and found that Monaco had installed a
transmission temperature sender with a range of 0 to 400
degrees. They used a VDO brand sender and I was able to locate a
VDO sender with a range of 0 to 250 degrees. My Alladin system
shows normal operating temperature to be less than 185 degrees.
Most references to max transmission temperature show over 250
degrees to be detrimental to fluid and transmission life.
I found the VDO Part# 323-095 sender at the following URL.
http://store.42draftdesigns.com/250F-Water-Temp-Sender-18-NPT_p_
90.html.
I installed the sender with the transmission cold and lost only
a few ounces of fluid during the sender exchange. The new sender
is slightly longer than the old one but has not made a
difference in my operating temperatures. The advantage of having
the gauge work properly is a quick glance provides quick
feedback of the temperature while the Alladin screen can be a
distraction to find the right information.
If you gauge just has C, hashmarks and H this sensor will give you the display you want. If you gauge is marked in degrees the result will be confusing.

RE: Hadley Air Horns

The reply about pulling the horn covers could be your answer. My horns sounded bad and opening them up revealed that mud daubers had made a nest inside and blocked the air flow. I did not find any insects but if any hatched they were probably deaf!

RE: Automatic Hydraulic Leveling Jacks

Renee,
If you have not done it already, the hydraulic pump reservoir needs to be secured so that it does not bounce up and down. If not secured the neck of the reservoir will crack and leak fluid. When enough fluid leaks out the float sensor for the fluid level will give a "jacks down indication."

RE: Commercial fuel islands

Ken,
I agree that Indiana's confusing diesel taxing is a pain in the butt. The fuel stations we do business with probably are not impacted by the amount of fuel that we purchase. However if we were to stop at the state run tourist info places and tell them that because of this fuel policy we will not be stopping in Indiana to spend our tourist dollars, it might make an impact. Also, sending an email, expressing these sentiments to the appropriate Indiana tourist department might start raising some eyebrows.

RE: Electric 50 amp power cord reeler

I also have a 2007 Endeavor. If you remove the cover from the power reel you will find that you have probably broken the drive belt.
