RE: Broken spring

It may be time for new springs. I have never had one repaired, I just replaced with new. Only a few $ more. They say you should replace them in pairs such as both on the same axle.

RE: Good or Bad DIY? let me have it.

Is that leaf just above the shim broken? Looks to me like it is, just in front of the U bolt.

RE: Buying 5th camper from Camping world?

The advantage I see from buying frow CW is that they have locatons all over the country where you should be able to get warranty work done.

RE: Driving in Big Cities

Keep your eyes on the road and stay in one lane. Do not change lanes unless it is necessary and double check your mirrors. Signal all lane changes and remember it is easier to move to the left than it is to the right.

RE: LEVEL?

If the stick on levels were installed properly then they will be accurate enough for your trailer. It would be awkward to go inside to check your leveling process.

RE: 2011 Chev Dually Tire Pressure

65 pounds of pressure will probably carry all the weight the rear axle is rated to carry. Chevy knows....

RE: Water pumps

I leave my pump on. It does not hurt the pump to run dry.

RE: Day Night Blinds

It is easy to do. Just take your blind down and disassemble it watching closely how the string is run through the blind. Some times the plastic grommets wear through and allow the aluminum to come in contact with the string. This is what causes them to fray. You can turn the grommets 90 degrees to get an unworn place for the string to glide.

RE: HPFP ??

Before I did anything I would wait and see what is wrong with your truck. May be nothing serious and Ford may fix it under warranty. Don't panic. Rick has everyone paranoid.

RE: renewal ers

Get the new rate for Coach Net for a year, then go back to Good Sam at their new rate. Both are good ERS.

RE: Hwy 303 N from Buckeye to bypass Phoenix

I've never been on 303 but the 101 loop is not bad. You are still going to have to come back on to 101 anyway and Bell road is going to slow you down more than the 101.

RE: Only 11 days before heading north to Alaska

We took that trip last year. Very enjoyable and saw lots of wildlife. Wish I was going with you.

RE: Hwy 550 from Durango to Ouray, Colorado

I drove that road pulling a 34 foot 5th wheel. Well worth the trip.

RE: Bent my Happijack leg drat!

I would try straightening it, what have you got to loose. I think it would try to straight it cold however. Get a big hammer and go slow. I'm surprised it didn't buckle when it bent 30 degrees. If you can remove the leg and get something solid into it like a pipe would help. Drive it into the bend then pound on the outside to help remove the bend. Good luck.

RE: Good Price on Used 5th AirBorne Pin Box?

I noticed the seller didn't state what it fit. Not all pin boxes are the same.

RE: Dutchman brand? Any good?

I own a Dutchmen and will never own another one. There were numerious issues when it was new. Took about three years to get them all fixed. One major one was the front landing legs. The collapsed. Repaired twice under warranty and once by me out of warranty. Last time I installed two motors and the problem was solved. Many of the problems we caused by the builders at the factory. All of the lug nuts were over torqued and caused many of the lug bolts to snap off when trying to remove the wheels. My dealer no longer handles Dutchmen products because of the delay in getting rembursed for warranty work. Said it took 6 months before Dutchmen would pay warranty claims. Ordering parts was another problem. They never sent the correct part the first time. One time, even after sending a picture of the needed part, they still managed to send the wrong one. I think part of the problem was that Dutchmen was always looking for cheaper parts to use and when they found one they would change parts in the middle of the production year. They did not know which parts were used on a particular trailer. My experence with Dutchmen was not very good.

RE: Firestone Airbg has a leak somewhere.

Spray soapy water on all the conections just like you would to check a leaking tire. May only need to tighten a conection.
