RE: All this talk about CA drivers licenses......

I thought the length restriction in CA was 65'. I have a friend with a 45' Super Class C that pulls a double stacker and he's 72' long. He leaves the storage yard at night and returns under the cover of darkness because he's already received 2 tickets for length violation.

RE: PALM SPRINGS CA. 'RESERVATIONS OR??'

No, unless you have to be in a certain park. I make reservations en route about 15 minutes away. If one park is closed there are plenty others, but I doubt all the parks will be full.

RE: What do the numbers mean.

With CC the numbers indicate the price. For example Inspire 360, $360,000 list or thereabouts.

RE: Country Coach

I have an 04' Inspire 40' Da Vinci Inspire and bought it new in 04'. I have 33,000 miles on it and love it. No major issues and when CC was viable they were great support. I used the factory only once 3 months into the first year and I use local service, never a dealer. I have several friends who have purchased new as well as used CC's in the last year and they were not concerned about the "orphan" status. CC is a fine MH and should you choose to get it be sure to spend the extra bucks to get it checked out - just like you would do with any coach. There are obviously some great deals out there as people are trying to get rid of the payments or upkeep costs. If you want some more info send me a PM.

RE: Buying a Fleetwood Revolution with a 400hp C9 Cat

Nice rig. Why worry about MPG? Are you going to sell it if you don't get the MPG you want? Enjoy the wonderful experience and your new toy. I get anywhere between 6.5 and 8.0 mpg with my Cummins 350 ISC. It really doesn't matter to me because the cost differential is not significant - just the acceptance of the fact of low MPG. Hell, my Jeep gets only 12 to 22 MPG depending on city verses open road. Life is short get out and enjoy.

RE: So how do you divide up your camping chores??

I do it all. My wife rarely travels with me so I have the routine down. When she does travel with me she cleans the bathroom - says I'm too messy.

RE: Nitrogen Filled Tires

:C do i have this right? air starts out 78% nitrogen; oxygen is smaller and is responsible for 2 psi decease in pressure / month because it escapes....then it looks like in the end I will have pure nitrogen at some point in the future.... Oxygen is a larger molecule than nitrogen (32 molar mass vs 28 molar mass) by a small degree. Therefore nitrogen escapes faster than oxygen. To add to the discussion I put C0-2 in my tires! I check my tires every departure morning and use SmarTire to monitor temp and pressure. Nothing replaces basic care.

RE: Question for Class A owners with slides

Our coach has three slides, things were thought out so that everything can be utilized with the slide in or out. So its is not a issue. Jim Same here.

RE: Emerald Desert

Don't forget about the other Outdoor Resort in Cathedral City on Ramon at Date Palm. Cathedral City is right next door to Palm Springs. This particular Outdoor Resort has 1,200 spaces and allows 5th wheels. MM. Yep, my next stop. Thanks.

RE: Televison Fell out

Just replaced my tv's with LCD's. Wow, that front tv is heavy - I'm guessing 100lbs. Mine would move slightly back about an inch - never an issue of falling now.

RE: Emerald Desert

I will be going to Palm Springs next week. Staying at Signature Resorts Indio, the newer section. What made you choose Emerald Desert. Shall I go there instead? I have also stayed at Signature Resort and the Motorcoach Resort in Indio but last year I started going to Emerald Desert because it was closer to the Palm Springs area. It is a nice park, nice ameneties and great people to hang out with - just a lot of fun. However, with the new management the prices have increased to the level of the Sig. and Motorcoach Resorts. So I'll be returning to those this winter - still working so I only get a week here and there. I was just curious about the current situation since I like to go to busy active locations.

RE: Class B vs. Big Rigs

Interesting post. Sounds like you are trying to justify your purchase. You bought what you wanted or could afford. Love it for what it is and what it allows you to do. Enjoy.

Emerald Desert

I was at Emerald Desert in Palm Desert a few weeks ago sharing the facility with only 11 other rv's. If anyone is there now I would be curious to see if the new management has really scared people away with the increased price or if I was just too early in the season.

RE: Really, does anyone own a rig that DOESN'T give them grief?

No more than our stick home and auto gave us. The only difference is the MH is a lot more fun. Plus you can change neighbors any time you want. Lots of truth here! A problem arises at home I put it off. If problem is even anticipated in the rig I'm all over it!

RE: Anyone make a mistake buying first MH ?

Well, our first rig was a gasser. We learned a lot and enjoyed a lot. After 3 years with the gasser, we upgraded to a diesel pusher. That was a great move. I wish we had had an open mind at the start. If so, we would have bought the DP and lived happily ever after. As it turned out, we spent several thousand dollars to learn that the gasser was not for us, but the DP was perfect for us. I guess we are living happily ever after now. This result is exactly why I started with a DP 5 years ago and do not regret anything about it. It's great fun and an amazing ride.
