RE: How to Re-pack Wheel Bearings

I have done my own bearings for almost fifty years on my tow trailers, boat trailers and for the last ten years on my fifth wheel. But, this spring my back could not take removing the tire and lifting the brake drum off and then back on. I guess I'll have to pay for this job from now on. I hate to have to pay $200 or more for this as it is such a simple job "a cave man could do it". I am going have to figure a way to do this without all the lifting. Any suggestions?
Aloha,
You make a tire jack or buy one.

RE: Anti seize as brake caliper lube

Aloha,
Anti-seize is normally used on parts that are usually bolted together so it would be easier to remove in the future. Personally, I would use some high temp grease on sliding parts for the brakes. TIA

RE: corroded battery terminal

Aloha,
Sand the posts and scrub the battery with Simple Green or some other cleaner and rinse it off. The reason I didn't say to use baking soda from the start is that a lot of times, the acid is leaching between the battery housing and post. If you used baking soda, it probably would cause that cell to go bad. Dry the battery and apply some silicone sealant around the bottom of the post and let it dry. After it dries, coat the post with grease, Vaseline, etc. and also the battery clamp. I have done this to all my batteries and haven't had any problems. TIA

RE: Anyone use a watts h 560 regulator?

Aloha,
In the old days, my grandmother tied a Bull Durham tobacco bag on the spout to stop the splash and filter out the sand.
