RE: Really good news...

From Gary...he has contacted me again...oddly, I cannot contact him by Sat phone on his ship...and no ships name either. Must be one of those stealth ships. Anyway..he asks for PayPal, I said...thanks, no thanks..but send me a bank draft, allow it time to clear and hell, I'll drive it to Vancouver for you.

RE: Suggestions-to coat or not to coat rubber roof

There is a product..Liquid Roof, or something close..I actually have a gallon in the basement. I had plans to apply but a local RV tech said that in doing so, it can mask the location of a leak, if I ever had one. In his opinion, it was better to maintain the roof with a yearly Dicor application. I chose to follow his advise.

RE: Really good news...

From Gary...I suspect it's a scam..I mean..he hasn't asked for any more details other than the ad, no more pics...and anyone asking for my name PLUS PayPal account number and address? nahh..but I did E mail back, suggesting he give me the name of his ship and Sat phone number and I'd call him.

" Thanks for the mail, I will pay $10000 for the 22 ft motorhome.I fully understand the condition of what i am buying..I am currently on the ship as i am a marine engineer and i want it before i get back into town...So i'll be paying you with my PayPal account,if my offer is accepted..Before i can make your payment through PayPal you will have to get back to me with the following information so that my pick up agent will come and pick up as soon as possible.Your Name and

RE: new to me C

It's a 24ft'r yes, and no, not out of line at all, If I was wealthy, I'd have a BigFoot..but, reality bites, sometimes. I paid 35, then taxes, to 39. Bought a two year Extended Warranty..and I hate those things, but it covers the entire power train, including the 4 wheel bits. $1,000 no deductible.
That black framing is a boat rack, that cranks down over the rear cap. I'll be able to put my 25 hp Merc and 15.5 inflatable on it and store it up out of the way, and tow my Suzuki. If you want more pix, hauptgw@mail.com If you want more info on the 4 wheel part, it's on my Blog
All I was wanting was more clearance, but there are no lift kits for E Fords. This came up..and who could say no? it has a very high CDI factor.

RE: NEXUS PASS - GOOD IDEA?

I have had NEXUS since inception and even tho I now live fah fah away...having to NOT sit in a line up is worth every penny. I have used all the crossings and have never had issues. Yes, I have had Ag inspections..had the cat treats yanked and the lecture that goes with it..OMG>>>cat treats in Lane 1...Red Alert, Red Alert...and I think that the NEXUS is just a good investment.

right off the bat...

A`road test. Yesterday I picked up my new to me, Triple E, Regal, 24ft with four wheel conversion, from an RV shop in Kelowna. I am sitting in Kamloops thismorning, having the fluids changed out of the 4 wheel bits and pieces and am heading north to Prince George this afternoon..and it's snowing like a son-of-a-gun.
an aside..doesn't it just yank your chain...when they remove all of the documentation? I have no history on this truck.
Must say tho...golly this is nice....

RE: Going through Canada

norm1945...from your post, it kind of reads as tho you were visiting Canada for a month, when you are really just transiting to Alaska. You'll find that we too, eat food and have booze, although, our whole day is Happy, not just an hour in the afternoon.

and have been at the Olympics or know someone who has? Some guys in Vancouver have found a camcorder and are trying to return it to it's rightful owners.

RE: Personal protection in Canada?

So..we Canadians have aluminum foil, aluminum covered and the 'drugstore variety'..now available in all gas stations...who says we don't protect ourselves?
I was reading the responses tho and I noted the comment..and of course we look after ourselves. We just don't have the mind-set of grabbing a gun. Most have given their personal safety much consideration. In truth too...is someone ripping off the bbq worth going to jail for? I mean..out the door with a baseball bat...next thing the fights on..and horrible things can happen..and for what? a bbq or cooler? And it's not that we don't like guns..I love guns. In my hands, not others. So..I don't have any because the chances are, my ego gets all riled up, have to show who's boss....and then what? I don't answer my door to just anyone. I keep a fully locked and loaded beaver in my pocket. Wrap my head with tin-foil. Lock my rig up when I go walk-about. If someone wants to rape me? at my age and state of physical deterioration? good luck. They'll have to take me home with them.
I have traveled for years boondocking in the US and never ever had a concern. Have had 2 guns out stupid situations in BC. My having a gun would have only made it deadly.

RE: Are you in the....

tankj..no worries...
VANCOUVER — Some spontaneous singing and dancing in the streets is expected during rush-hour Thursday in Vancouver as two flash mobs gather to celebrate Canada's north.
The dancers are expected to learn some new moves, including "paddle the canoe and the harpoon."
The first takes place at Georgia and Granville at 5 p.m.
Thirty minutes later, a flash mob will begin singing and dancing at Robson and Granville.
Thousands of people danced in a flash mob on Robson Street on Feb. 13, a day after the Olympics opening ceremonies (See the video at: http://vimeo.com/9451898)
Flash mobs are defined as groups of people who suddenly gather in a public place and perform some act for a brief time, whether dancing or freezing in place for a few minutes, then quickly disperse and blend into the crowd.
The gatherings are usually organized through "viral" e-mails or social media such as Facebook.
The first flash mobs were considered performance art.

Anyone notice that the Canadians responding are like...whuuut? and our American cousins are like...not. What does this tell us?
And if I can stop laughing at the aluminum foil line. I'll be able to get me shoes tied. I need velcro....
