RE: Austin TX

Oak Forest is clean, safe, quiet and primarily pull through sites for itinerant travelers. However it is in the SE quadrant. We've stayed at La Hacienda out at Lake Travis which is definitely in the NW corner. Last time we were there it seemed to be sliding a bit toward the seedy side. Haven't been back in a couple of years - might be fine. The sites are tight and back-in. Even when we are visiting in the NW we stay at Oak Forest.

RE: What is the worst Road you drove on?

Mosquito Pass Road - into the east side of Leadville CO (From Highway 9). Yikes - wandered into this one - glad I wasn't towing. Couldn't open the passenger door because of the sheer wall and if I stepped out the driver's side it was straight down to the valley.
Seriously - the worst towing experiences have been lousy Interstates that beat the living kerap out of truck, trailer, and spine -- I10 in Lousiana comes to mind.
cheers,

RE: drinking water

We don't drink from the fresh tank - who knows - it's probably fine. I brush my teeth, wash the dishes etc. On the road we make our coffee and drinking water from bottled water. When hooked to shore water we have a reverse osmosis system (self installed) that gives us excellent tasty solid free water no matter how good or bad the shore water is. An added bonus is the holding tank for the reverse osmosis system holds about a gallon so it is no problem on short trips to get a drink from the RO spigot.
cheers
