RE: Where do you mount my satellite receiver? Not the dish.

I was going to post a picture but because of the black trim and the fact that my controll box is black, it doesn't show up.
Any way I replaced my front overhead TV with a new flat thin TV. The TV is bigger, 23" VS the 20" that was their. It fit the opening side to side but left an opening of about 3" top to bottom. I set the TV all the way to the top and put the Controll box under the TV and made a cover plate to cover the rest of the opening.
You said you have a closet behind the wall. Great, Cut a hole above or below the TV and build a shelf in the closet to attach the control box to.

RE: We just spent 4 nights in Death Valley

We were at StovePipe Wells March 1st 2008. Stayed for a week. We really enjoyed it.
To those that have been and those that want to go, also consider The Bad Lands in SD. Another wonderfull place to visit.
Also Flamingo NP in the Flordia Everglades.
Death Valley, Bad Lands, Flamingo NP, not much to do except see some of the best scenery you will ever see. (spell checker won't work, disreguard incorrect spelling)

RE: White's City R.V. Park, NM

I was their about 6 yrs ago. I found 3 sites with open ground.
Reported it to the office. They never did anything about them.
At the time I was their, you had to go to the office every day. They would only let you register for one night at a time.
From what they charged back than and having stayed their, I would go someplace else.
But that is me. They may have changed in the last 6 years.

RE: Sam's Club 6 volt deep cycle

Here is a link to who makes what battery.
http://www.jgdarden.com/batteryfaq/batbrand.htm#index
If you take the time to get the Spec sheet on Sam's Club 6V GC2 (made by Johnson Controls) and Trogan T105 you will find that on paper they are the same.
I have also seen where Johnson Controls makes some of Trogan batterys.
Buy the Sam's GC2 and go back in 11 months and have them checked. The have a 1 yr free replacement.
I compaired the Sam' E31/950 to Interstates 950 and found that they are the same. Except the Sam's E31 only costs $98.
My last set of Interstate 950's lasted 14 months. My electrical system was checked out and no problems were found. The pro rated warenty on the Interstate batterys is worthless.
I was quoted $350 to install 2 Interstate 950's. Thats about what they charged me 14 months ago.
Sam' Club charged me $204.55 2 E31's installed and that includes sales tax.

RE: Southwind water pipe froze and burst, how do I get to it?

If you take all the screws out when you take the sheet metal out you will find that some of the screws actually hold the valves to the sheet metal.
Take the valve handles off than take all the screws out, you will find that the screws with larger heads on them close to the valves are the ones that hold a clip from the sheet metal to the valve.
With that out of the way you will have access to your water lines.
You might have to take the wooden pannel out under the sink to have access to the other end. Any good RV supply store will have the fittings you need to replace the ends. Or just buy a flex line from the RV supply.

RE: internet in your motor home?

I'll still take my MotoSat over air cards or any thing else.
We get in a lot of places where you don't have any cell service.
Never been any place that I could not get on the internet with my MotoSat system.

RE: How often do you change your oil?

A Cat service Tech told me draw an oil sample, send it in to be tested. Change the to oil filter at about 7000 to 7500miles. Add 2 qts of new oil. He told me doing this you should get good results on your test and never have to completely change the oil all at once.
I do change my filter between 7000 & 7500miles and send in oil samples. I completely change oil around 20000miles. Never had a test returned that said any thing other than list the results and state no other action required.

RE: Windows/system32/config missing or corrupt

I just went thru this on a HP computer. Took it to a repair shop and they told me my hard drive was TOAST. Just wanted to sell me something
Well I knew it wasn't.
I went on line and went to HP's service and download section and found I could give them the model# serial# and the WindowsXP code that is listed on the data tag on my computer and I order a new set of disks that will restore the system to the way it was when I purchased it.
If you do a new install of WindowsXP you will not loose any thing you have on the computer. (unless you FORMAT the drive, than you loose every thing)
Just got my disks and reloaded the system and I am using that computer now.

RE: High Mileage Rambler

My son has a 1989 Holiday Rambler with a 454 engine that has over 130K on it with no problems. I would think the tranny would give out first, but so far both are still going.

RE: Washer-dryer has no drying heat

When mine wouldn't dry the clothes, I found it was that the fan on the blower motor was loose. I also had too much end play in the blower motor shaft, so I hade to replace the blower motor.

RE: Replace hard wood flooring.

Jerry.
I can tell you it is both nailed & glued down.
The best way to start is to place a small electric heater face down on the first board. Leave the heater on that spot about 5 minutes, using a small pry bar silde it under the end and slowley lift the board up. Slide the heater up as you go. Lift 2" slide heater 2".
Its slow, but it works.
The nails are in the edge of the grouve on the boards. After you heat the board, you can run the pry bar in from the side as well.
Take your time and have fun.
Here is the last one I did.

RE: toll window on drivers side- National RV

I have a 2007 National with the toll both window in the drivers compartment. Would like to replace it with real window, one that is common on most coachs.
I have had (2) motorhomes made by National RV.
On both the driver side window was a (3) peice window.
The top part is fixed and doesn't move. That is about two thirds of the window.
The bottom part is front part fixed and the back part sildes to the front to give access to pay toll. It also has a screen that slides with it. Or you can open the window and leave the screen closed for ventelation. This type window is common on most MHs.
I don't understand "replace it with real window"
Post a picture of what you have.

RE: Get a ByPass-Miss a Trip

I had a quad by-pass in 2oo7.
Or did I? They never stoped my heart, or put me on a by-pass pump but they worked on my heart while it was still beating and made 4 new blood flow lines. This was done in Omaha Nebraska. 3 days from operation to out the door. They say with this kind of procedure you recover faster.
In 20 years, I have had 12 angioplastic procedures, 6 stints and the quad by-pass. Took 5 weeks off from driving the MH after the by-pass.
I just don't drive as far as I use to. Now a day is 250 to max 350 miles a day.
Take it slow for a while and you will get back to where you want to be in time.
Just remember, you are in health now than you were before the by-pass.
Welcome to the zipper club.
