RE: I-35 from San Marcos to Dallas

Thanks to everyone who responded. Apparently there are only two other options, 281 and 77. Two points, first traffic in both directions was crazy. I thought about spring breakers but we left Harlingen before most breakers would even be thinking about getting up and I doubt they would be involved in the southbound traffic on Sunday morning. Secondly, the traffic was stop and go, not just slow. We were almost rear ended 3 or 4 times. Accidents or construction played very little role in this mess. It was just the volume of cars. As I said, I've been driving for 55 years and this was without question the absolute worst traffic I've ever seen. I think Texas should build some more roads!
Once again, "Thank You" for your inputs.

RE: I-35 from San Marcos to Dallas

Me again... What I meant to say....was how can I avoid I-35 when travelling from Oklahoma area to Harlingen, Texas. We traditionally took I-35 from San Marcos to Dallas. However, I plan to avoid I-35 in this area in the future. While I respect to comment about "not having any real traffic along that route the other day", I have always seen a lot of traffic along that piece of road. North of Dallas we stopped at a rest area and I asked a trucker if he had just come north. He said he did and thought the traffic was "normal" for that area. He said to only go thru Austin at 3:00 am or 10:00 pm!
Sorry about any confusion.

I-35 from San Marcos to Dallas

Hi,
Having travelled I-35 from San Marcos to Dallas last Sunday, I'm looking for an alternate route. Just towing a pop-up. Took forever in 100 miles of bumper to bumper traffic. Having towed RVs since 1970, I can say without a doubt, that that was the worst traffic we have ever seen.No construction, just cars and a few trucks. Stop and go all the way.
All opinions will be considered.
Thanks,
Bill

RE: 30 amps from 2 15 amp sources?

Hi folks,
Thanks for the knowledgeable and quick responses! I'll take your advice and get an electrician. We used to have a pop up but moved several times up toa 38' Cedar Creek 5th wheel. Sold that and we now are back into a pop up. Going to daughter's house for the 4th of July and was thinking that with the A/C on, we would need more than the 15-20Amps provided by one circuit.
Thanks again and I really appreciate the fact that all responses were on point.

30 amps from 2 15 amp sources?

Hi,
Theoretical question. I have a pop up with 30A service. Could I take two extension cords, each 15A with power from seperate circuit breakers, connect them together at the female ends and install a 30 receptacle and effectively have a 30A receptacle?
Basically, I don't have a 30A receptacle at home. Can I just take two extension cords and splice them together and plug them into separate 15A outlets and then have a 30A source?
