Roof - protector chemical product

I have a 5 year old Springdale. I never cleaned the roof or used a roof protector chemical on the roof. I feel I may create a problem if I use a chemical than if I leave it alone to the sun, rain, normal wear. The last thing I want to do is open up caulking or seals around the air condioner, vents, edging. Am I better off to leave the roof alone or should I use a cleaning/protector type product. I am not talking about cosmetic looks. I do clean the sides of the trailer. I am talking about roof preservative/maintanence. With all the talk on a EPDM rubber roof. Is a "leave it alone" attitude good when it comes to Travel Trailer roofs. Hate to use a product on the roof only to find it creates a leak. Thank you in advance for replies.

RE: Denman Tires

April I replaced my three year old Duro tires which had side wall cracks. Purchased Denman in part because of this sites positive reviews. I went with load range D air pressure 55 psi have not had any issue so far with 1500 miles. (don't go down the air pressure path. I had 4 tire dealers tell me 4 different stories from use 35psi tv door sticker to 65 psi max tire pressure rating. I picked 55 psi because of my own logic based on weights heat tire expansion - lol.

RE: Good Deal on GPS, or not? Garmin Nuvi 260W

As mentioned good deal depends if it has features you want. I purchased what they called "refurb" TomTom 730 from Amazon list is $450 new, I paid $280. It looked new out of the box. It has been running flawless for 6 months. I like the features of the TomTom with ability to update maps, vehicle image, voices, and like the idea it reads street names. Both Garmin and Tomtom are great products. If the product meets your need and within budget then it is a good deal. I should have purchased one years ago for what I save on gas using the GPS to get from A to B the shortest way. good luck

RE: Swine Flu -

I am not worried about Swine flu at all. And the intent is not spreading doom or gloom. My question is relavant in general RV. I was letting you know. I plan to go to Canada which means crossing a boarder. With all the frenzy in news media coverage do you think it will have any effect on boarder crossing into or out of Canada. I will see how the situation unfolds before my trip. People will react different based on their perceptions and influence of the new media. No panic, it's just the Flu with a unique name ! I hope everyone has many camping trips planned and our motherly government officials will allow us to roam free in months to come. happy camping -

Swine Flu -

Will swine flu keep people from camping. We have a trip from US to Canada planned May 10th I am not worried too much about the flu itself as I am about being able to cross the boarder in either direction if Swine flu ramps up during our stay. I wonder if there will be restrictions on north America travel. thoughts ?

RE: Going from a TT to a Class A

Not to be a policeman but when comments are made like "kids playing games and walking around". I am sure a MH is not a ticket to ignor seat belt laws. I can see going to the bathroom in a hurry if the urge is urgent. In our travel trailer we pull over it takes ten minutes. You are in a vehicle on the highway with kids on board not a airplane in the sky with the seatbet light turned off. I think there pro's and con's to a MH and TT but walking around or playing games on the move may not be one in my book.

RE: Going from a TT to a Class A

This is a question that goes through my mind often but it comes to $$ We pull a travel trailer (1) engine to maintaine oil change $19.95. Class A,B,C you have (2) engines larger in MH and other in the toad. Insurance on the tow vehicle and TT much cheeper than a class A,B,C. The overall cost between TT to MH goes up when the $$ are detailed. guess lot depends on how much money folks are willing to spend for the perks of driving a MH verses pulling a TT. DW does not like the idea of the MH cab being in the living quarters. she likes the idea in a travel trailer of not seeing a cab. just a few thoughts as I often think of a switch up from my TT.
