RE: Happijac Camper Jacks

Sorry I was a little slow getting back, "blue screen blues" , I now have a new computer.:(
Still can't get white box liner around here. And no liocal powder coat.
My plan was only to get the outers done, the inners on my jacks are like new, with some minor scratching. Since new I have greased the outside of the inner tube, it is messy but it works.
The outers suffer from stone chips and rust coming from inside the welded areas, poor prep..
The front jacks sit on a work table in the shop, all stripped down waiting for me, to make my mind up. The rear jacks are still on.

Happijac Camper Jacks

I have just gone through the rebuild of the jacks for my Bigfoot, with the Happijac factory's support.
Now, before I assemble the jacks, do I paint, powder coat or use bed liner?
Where I live, the local Rhino and LineX dealers do not recommend bed liner in white. They say set up and flushing is expensive, and that the white liner turns yellow with sun exposure.
So my next question would be, should they be painted black and sprayed white.
Hearing some one else's experience would help me make my mind up.

RE: Bigfoot Awning install ?

I have installed awnings on both the side and back. The back was simple, but the side was something else. The fibreglass was not straight and caused the awming rail to pull out of the fibreglass.
I ended up using 3 large oak 6" washers on the inside of the cupboard with 1/4 X 20 galvanized carrage bolts. The nuts hold the awning frame, consealed within the awning. The awning rail is left as just trim now.
There is wiring to be careful of. At that time I emailed Bigfoot and they sent a drawing of the locations safe to drill. Like S/Sand wrote, you can scan for that, most stud finders these days have AC sniffers.

RE: Proper blow-out procedure

I normally;
1.Drain fresh water tank and each holding tank
2.Isolate hot water tank and drain
3.Blowout from pump with compressed air
4.Pump in antifreeze "plumbers red pop" through camper's pump
5.Blowout again with compressed air, pump through each line out into each drain
All lines free of water, any "low spots" filled with antifreeze, and all traps filled with antifreeze.
30 to 40 below 0 and no problems.

RE: happijac with broken tooth reduction gear

I just sent two motors and gearboxes back DIRECTLY TO HAPPIJAC, for repair.
They have a flat repair fee, don't mess around with trying to find the parts. I tried and after a lot of fret, called through to their service.
When you package it the smaller box is better and Xpress Canada Post is cheapest.
Mine are on the way in for refurb.
