RE: CoachNet

Congratulations Linda Z. Maybe some other ERS companies will take notice and look into forming a review board to resolve customer complaints.
Again, congratulations.

RE: Recommendations for north Georgia

I know you said North Georgia, but you should at least take a look at Ocean Lakes resort in Myrtle Beach. I asked a worker and he thought storage was 63ish a quarter. The people that own the 8,000 trailers (I think that is what he said) they store can't all be wrong. Ocean Lakes personnel move your trailer on and off any site you reserve as many times as you want for the nothing, just pay for the site. The trailer does not have to be registered or have tags.
Hopefully someone with more knowledge can help with the numbers and logistics. My first time there was a few weeks ago. I was really impressed with the operation.

RE: Jekyll island campground

The beach area across from the Campground is the Clam Creek Picnic Area. It is not a park. There is a fishing pier and biking and hiking trails. Very nice review. The next time I am in the area I will stay at Coastal Georgia RV Resort, as the dust at Jekyll Island Campground is excessive, IMHO. With the inexpensive methods available to control dust, there is no reason that the dust shouldn't be addressed.
Yes, there is a very nice area across the street from the CG for a picnic, with tables etc, and it appears that "picnic area" appears in the name, but the whole property certainly fits the definition of a park. lol
park noun
1. an area of land, usually in a largely natural state, for the enjoyment of the public, having facilities for rest and recreation, often owned, set apart, and managed by a city, state, or nation.
I agree, I would discourage anyone from driving to the beach in the "picnic area" across the street from the CG in a high RV. Small Class B's would be fine.
Again, great review,
Paul

RE: Update: Cooltech won't work with dealer towing package

cooltechllc.com Just don't expect any help from them if you have an issue. They have no customer service except to take your money and not respond.Thanks. Not much information as to what to expect. Sounds like if they had a better webpage and some customer support, they would have a huge winner.
I am going to pass. Troubleshooting is almost impossible without a little more information. like a schematic. They must be worried that we will build our own.
OP Good luck with your dealer.

RE: Jekyll island campground

Jekyll Island Campground is a wooded, very dusty, rustic campground. Very good cable and excellent WiFi. I camped there a few weeks ago in a 40 foot class A. I booked two days before I got there and got a good size site, but very difficult to back into.
The kids will love the bicycle trails and the park across the street. In the park, they have horseback riding($) on the beach for the kids. Lots of history on the bicycle trails. Several of the sites are within the 5 year old's bicycle range. The kids will love the fish pier and nature trail in the park. Sandy beach.
Paul
Thank you this information. How far is a beach to swim or play at relative to h campground. I have been reading about a water park($)? And some turtle exhibit ($)?
The entrance to the park is directly across the street. I am guessing the road to the beach in the park is 1/3 mile long. Some from the campground walked in, others from the campground drove to the parking lot at the beach. There are no waves like you would see elsewhere. I don't know about the murky water, but I did see people swimming. Most children were playing on the beach.
I did see the water park, but did not any pay attention to it. I do not know how it compares to James Island County Park. It is only a weekend, if you don't like it, don't go back.

RE: Update: Cooltech won't work with dealer towing package

I believe the 2012 Rubicon works like the 2011/2012 Grand Cherokee Limited or Overland. You have to install a separate socket and bulbs in the taillights. The Jeeps lights are not used, just the newly installed sockets and bulbs with power from the MH. It has something to do with the computer. Here is Blue Ox part number. Blue Ox BX8869
From Blue Ox website for the BX8869:
Bulb and Socket Tail Light Wiring Kit
Does not tap into vehicle existing wiring, simple to install, fits most vehicles with clearance in taillight housing, operated by the towing vehicle.
wiring instructions.
Scroll down to wiring Blue Ox baseplate for 2012 Wrangler
I hope this helps.

I agree with wny_pat. I would also mention that you posted it on Good Sam's RV.net forum and everyone is waiting to find out how you make out. If you don't get what you want from the first person you speak with, ask to speak to a supervisor.
Please post what their response is.

RE: Breakaway switch

Thank you. We also have two Jeeps we tow. I have been waiting for the baseplate to arrive before I ordered the breakaway. Since Tekonsha makes two different types, I was waiting to pull the bumper cover to see which type would fit best.
The only one I can find locally is a Hopkins, so I will order the Tekonsha 2005-B120 over the internet.
Thanks again,

RE: Satellite Signal problems

Has it worked in the past or is this the first time you have tried it or has it worked in the past?
You say the box appears to be picking up the signal. Are you getting this from the signal meter on your TV or are you guessing it is?
Did you set your satellite box for the type of antenna that you have on the roof of your motor home? Your DTV box may be set for a 17: Slimline 3S (SWM) antenna for home and need a multi-switch setup for your RV.
On our box it is
Menu
Settings and help
Settings
Satellite
Repeat satellite setup.
Just from the fact our house is #17 on the list, you will have many choices. We have a SK-3005 set up as SWM on our RV.

RE: Booth Dinette???

I will readily give up the storage a booth provides for a free standing dinette table. I will never own another motor home with a booth style dinette.
Our free standing table has a leaf that can be used to expand the table. When we have guests we move the table into the middle of the floor and it easily seats 4. Every time someone with a window seat wants to get up, the outside person needs to move. I am slim, but feel cramped in a booth where I can't move the table or chair to give myself more room.

RE: Providence RI end of July 3 days needed

From experience, Normandy Farms always has cancellations. You might want to make another reservation elsewhere with the possibility of canceling it if a site opens up at Normandy.
If you are looking at Canoe River in Mansfield, I hope someone that has stayed there can give you a review on the place. I have never stayed there. Look for reviews.
Another option is the Boston/Cape Cod KOA in Middleboro, MA. It is 40 miles by highway (25 miles as the crow flys) which will take you about 45 minutes. Maps will suggest that you take route 44 to Providence, it is very congested. It is very close to Plymouth and Cape Cod and about an hour from Boston. You will need to confirm this, but I believe the cancellation penalty at a KOA is $10. Even though I live a couple miles away, I have never stayed here, but hear good things. Their websites says they have the 50 amp full hookups.
Paul
Route 95 through Providence has a very low weight restriction on a bridge near Providence. They are giving tickets. Coming up 95 from the south, take route 295 around.

RE: Providence RI end of July 3 days needed

I have no idea if there is anything closer with 50 amp, water and sewer. Normandy Farms in Foxboro, Massachusetts is 22.6 miles north from Providence. It should take you about 35 minutes with no traffic. This a true resort, not the figment of someones imagination.
They have 50 amp service, Sewer and Water. Make sure you request a site with these services as some sites do not have them. They are in the process of upgrading the park, but I don't know how far they have gotten.
Make sure you use a water pressure reducer as the water pressure is very high.

RE: Breakaway switch

Because there are no electronics involved, (just a simple make break switch) I don't believe it makes a whole lot of difference. When the I needed one, I went go Ebay and got it delivered for $10.
Ooops Brain fade. I didn't see this was for a toad. That may be a way different breakaway switch than a trailer uses.
I believe it is the same. I have seen corroded ones on cars where they do not look they have held up well to the environment.
Tekonsha makes 3 models with a couple of versions of each.
Part Number 2005-B120
Part Number 2009-P
Part Number 2010-P

Breakaway switch

I forgot to take the breakaway switch of off the Jeep we traded in. There are quite a few manufacturers of breakaway switches; IE OEM, Tekonsha, Curt Manufacturing, Hopkins, Fastway.
Are there any manufacturers I should stay away from? Does one manufacturere stand out over the others?
I don't mind spending a few more dollars for one that can handle the road salt in the norheast. I only want to do this once.
Thanks for any help.
