RE: Hensley Arrow or Equalizer Hitch?
Having had one of the others mentioned, I then went and bought my Hensely - a move I would never regret. Admittedly the HA is quite a lot more expensive, I won't put the price tag on me and my families life. I experienced two situations with the other and said no more; I experienced two 18 wheelers passing me on each side with the HA and it never moved a hair...well worth the added cost. I am not by no means knocking the two mentioned, but relating my experience with one that prompted me to bite the bullet and get the HA. Good luck and safe travels.

You might talk with the Cardiologist that put it in, and see if the manufacturer has the remote control monitoring device for your PM. I have the Defibrillator implanted and carry the remote control monitoring device with us; on the designated date you transmit your info - truly amazing. It looks the size of the old flat style answering machine, contains a paddle/wand that you just put on your chest where the PM is inserted. You have it hooked to a phone jack and follow the instructions, i.e., push this button until....next and it is over in about 5-6 minutes. Having this allows me to stay out and we return once a year for a face to face. Good luck, technology is crazy!!

RE: Class B campsite hook up question
Got to second that of not hooking up the water and using the tanks! For me, I have back problems, so getting down and affecting the hook-up is bothersome. We have found that at a lot of CG's they have a fresh water hose at the entrance to the park and will let you fill the tank. Safe travels.

In these times of economic problems, the less than honest deals seem to be appearing. You can have pixs, data, etc, but I for one want to get into it, drive it and have inspected by a competent mechanic. If you go to see it, don't let the seller pick the mechanic. My alarm goes off at this time....and your new to RV's and could walk away a big loser first time out; could be the other way, but are you willing to take a chance - with your money? Good luck, Ron

I know that the ScanII rates extremely high on my priority. I got mine about two years ago and if it ever fails - another will be purchased immediately. I am not the techie type, but the info gleaned from it are worth the cost. Good luck.

I would like to throw in a few thoughts...don't like see people getting taken advantage of - especially with the bucks your spending.
Inasmuch as A's have come down seriously because of the economy, a lot of people who own A's are selling due to job loss, etc., this seems the time for the "slip and slide" seller. Have you considered checking out some of the dealers within say 200 miles? I say this only because your in Indiania and that is the hub for it all. I'd think you could see, walk-around, even ride in A that could fill your bill. Really glad you joined the Forum, good luck in your quest - keep us in the loop as to the outcome, Ron

Those A's resale, blah...and folks in general are not buying big. We have a B, and I love pulling into a shopping center, parking, and going to a movie or whatever - can't in the A. I guess the bottom line is your call, the maintenance and drivability of the B over the maintenance and drivability of that big A. Good luck.

I think the screaming deal would turn out sour for you; that 8.1 and the Ally sounds better suited for your needs. The add-ons....they are nice, but you have a rig that is there for the long-haul. Good luck.

Ike, as you know, Uncle ordered a trillion of these for storms, etc. - and so many have set in fields and storage lots. Near my hometown there was about 500 stored and they started auctioning off; only thing is they sell....there is no warranty, etc. IMHO, I wouldn't buy anything that Uncle owned....really massed produced and attention to detail was probably not adhered to - production sked was foremost.
If it were me, I would rather buy a used one from a private seller who has taken care of it. I'd hate to see you get something that will possibly sour you and your family with a myriad of problems. Like you, I am handy and almost all repairs, but these give me the feeling of a big dark hole!

Had the same type problem with a Craftsman 5600 Generator, one pull and it would fire right up, but now electrical output. Took it to a Generator Repair Facility and they did a "test run" and came back that the Stator was defective, had worked twice, but then quit. I was lucky, this genny was still under (about to expire) warranty on the Parts only. I gave it to Sears, got a call about 6 days later, they repaired and charged notta.....thanks Sears. Now every time (two years later) I pull that cord and plug something in I hold my breath, ha. Good luck, Ron

RE: Mildew type mold on exterior vinyl
I have used Starbright Mildew Stain Remover on my boat seats with huge success. I had tried numerous things, but it would work partially, but next week the dots were back. I bought the Starbright product at West Marine along with a bottle of 303 Protectrant. I sprayed the mold remover on, let work for about 5-7 minutes and then rub it with the Magic Eraser cleaner pad - it removed it. I followed up with the 303 and now the problem is long forgotten. I shop W/M regularly, but not for oil with W/M label. I don't say this to mean it isn't good, some have shown it has the same make up of the others. It is a choice we all have to make.
With the amount of our hard earned cash used to pay for our vehicles, and rigs....I will go with a Major Brand....the difference is minimal, and mental satisfaction, to me, is enormous. I know people who have used Sears Labeled oil for years...it is a matter of choice.

Sorry to hear the problem with your RT190....but in the area of sewer hose - I am not surprised!!! There has been numerous complaints in the last couple of years about their hose and how cheesy it is. I know your under warranty, but your sanity and enjoying the road, not the waiting room of an RV Repair Facility, go and have them order you a hose thru RVSani-con and your on your way.
Roadtrek, I know you monitor this Forum, please do yourself a favor and upgrade that hose...it is going to cost you bad publicity and probably sales in the future.
The RT is a great machine, fortunately I never have had any problems with warranty (never had anything break)and have learned how to do a lot of sel-repair (thanks Roger and the silent pump for one).

I met a lady with a late model RT210 and she was telling me the problems with it; inasmuch as I have a RT190P I just had to take a look. Engineering, loosely used word - designed to frustrate owners beyond belief. I have an '05 that I installed a macerator and a hose from RV Sani-Con...matter of fact, I got everything thru them and it worked perfectly. The hose was expensive (about $80.00) but it is 7' long and coiled...stretched it goes to 21'. We have been using now for near 5 years and it is perfect. We hear of folks having a replacement installed under the warranty - SOS being installed!! I would suggest if it is under warranty get a good hose and take it in - and have them install that.

I have always gone with GM products, but when GM & Dodge sold out to Uncle....I gained a whole new respect for Ford. They wouldn't take the deal, stayed their own boss and own to bigger and better things - I wish them nothing but success. Will I switch, most asuredly!!!

I'd put that money in my pocket before putting it in RVD's. I have bought thru them, would do it again in a micro second, but forget that warranty. You get the original warranty, and usually the bugs show up pretty good. We all have seen folks who bought these because the salesperson says great things.....it is there job and they get a commission on that sale. Like I said, put that money away as though you bought it...your going to have a grand in the end. You might even trade before that 7yr period comes around. Safe travels and savings.

I have the Honda 2000i, have used it regularly boondocking; but I find its versatility around home and in the back of my truck just a cool. I have a 5500 for use in my home, had the necessary wiring installed - will never need it now, ha!! If you have it you will use it and enjoy it. Safe travels.

Have been using RED, but think the BLUE is to capture more of the market...folks concerned about the new gas we are pumping. I've also used Sea Foam, while more expensive, really does a great job.
