Digital TV Converter Boxes

Just a note of mention................My motorhome is usually plugged in about half the time I have it stored for the season. I store the motorhome on a cement pad next to my house. When plugged in and not in use I have always unplugged both of my Digital TV Converter Boxes. I noticed the boxes are very warm to the touch and it doesn't matter if they are in the pass through or digital use mode. Has anyone else discovered the heat these boxes generate? I will be replacing the boxes and analog with digital TVs this off season. The DTV Converter Boxes just don't give me a safe feeling.

Goodyear G 670 tires

I have been shopping around for new M/H tires, mine are 9 years old and just starting to show cracks. My size is 245/70R19.5. I considered the China brands because of the cost and the tires are usually replaced after 6 years anyway. The U.S. tires run at least $100 more each. I decided to search the internet and came a across a mail in rebate on Goodyear for $50 a tire, that's $300 for the 6 tires. The mail in rebate details and download is located on the Goodyear Tire Company website. The rebate makes the wallet pain a little easier. Made my installation appointment today. Just thought I'd pass this rebate on. The rebate is good till July 31. None of the dealers even knew about this rebate.

RE: RV Lots in SW Florida

Give Fountain View in South Ft. Meyers a try. Brother in law stays there. He thinks the rates for the season are reasonable. He is thinking of purchasing a lot. Fountain View is just south of the Shell Factory on the oposite side of RT 41, Tamiami Hwy.

RE: 1999 Ford V-10

I have a 2000 HR Vacationer with the Ford V10. I experienced the same problem four years ago. Luckily I was at an FMCA area convention and the dealer I bought my MH from was there with salesmen and mechanics. They sent a mechanic over to check out my problem..................engine would not stay running on it's own, I had to keep foot on the gas pedal to keep running, once the engine was warmed up it would stay running on it's own. That took about 20 minutes plus. The mechanic checked it out and told me it was an oxygen idle sensor. He obtained the part in about an hour and replaced it with in the next hour..........and all was Okay.

RE: Cleaner for all the factory roof goop

I have used the Awesome Orange cleaner from the Dollar Tree store. It cleans the cualk with no elbow grease..................You just have to let it sit for a feww seconds and wipe it off. I wouldn't use this on a rubber roof though, my roof is metal. You can only get it at Dollar Tree only.......cost is $1.00 a bottle

Anyone have a Fun Finder Trailer with TV

Saw a TV and bracket set-up in a Fun Finder Travel Trailer that allowed you to remove TV from inside mount and place in outside mount. The TV was an option that came with the TT. I would like to obtain the name of TV and the mount so I could purchase the set up.

RE: Use TV as computer monitor

I found the way to send computer through the TV on the HP laptop. Pluged S-Video cable to computer and to TV. I went to control panel and clicked on Mobile PC. Found section heading that said connect external devices...............found picture of monitor and clicked on connect. Put TV on S-VHS and computer screen came up on TV. Still trying to figure out how to do the same using the Dell Laptop.

Use TV as computer monitor

Bought an S Video cable and plugged one end in laptop computer and other end into the TV. Everything was powered up and got nothing. I tried switching TV input to video 1, video 2 and S-VHS...........and even unhooked antenna into TV. There must be something simple I am not doing. Is there anyone that has accomplished this feat that can direct me with the correct proceedure. The reason I would like to be able to hook up computer to TV is to view some college hockey games that are only available throu the computer B2 sports network and I would like to watch the games on a larger screen than on my laptop.

RE: Cat is going to stop making Diesel Highway engines?

Have friend that works for Cummins.............Told me last summer that Cummins obtained contract to make engines for Cat. Cat can not make engines that will comply with new emissions standards. Cat would have to pay close to 2K dollars for each engine they produced as a federal penalty.
