RE: How many miles on your ford 7.3

137K on my 2003 F350. Other than the lame 4R100 tranny, it's a pretty good truck.
I have been told by folks at a couple of Ford dealerships that the 7.3 is a hot item if in decent shape. The 6.0 has a bad reputation, the 6.4 sucks fuel, and the 6.7 costs a lot to maintain. Just what I have been told as I have no experience with any of the others.

RE: What tires do you recommend

The past two sets of tires I had on my F350 were Bridgestone Revos. I got about 50K out of them. Great traction handling. The cons are they are a bit noisy and tend to grab and throw rocks.
I recently needed another set and decided to save a few bucks. Tire Rack showed Kumho SAT KL61 as 3rd highest rated (higher than the Revos) plus they were $100 per tire cheaper than the Revos. I got them and they ride smoother and quieter than the Revos. But they don't match the handling stability. Kind of like driving a Buick LeSabre after being used to a Chevy Camaro. Not dangerous but not crisp or quick. I haven't had any snow to try them in yet but they seem to do fine in rain. Will have to wait and see how they wear and if they do well in snow before forming a final opinion.
