RE: What do you think of this dealer offer?

I think when you shop around, you will not find other dealers offering more for your trade....They all use the same data to determine trade allowances and offers will not vary very much.

RE: Thinking of selling my coach...Am I stupid?

There will never be a better time to upgrade than now. Your coach will continue to depreciate while a new coach's price will only go up from now and discounts will not be as great as they are now. Bite the bullet on yours...the gain you make on buying now instead of in a year or two will more than make up for it....And if you are going full time, you will want a newer coach for the long haul.

RE: mpg on diesel?

Jennifer We got 8.9 MPG on our diesel on last summer's 9000 mile trip towing a Saturn Vue.....At 55 MPH we would have gotten probably around 9.2..Our rig weighs 32,000 fully loaded.

RE: Windshield sun shade

I made my own using shadecloth purchased on line from Home Depot....they have a variety of colors and transparency. Total cost with shipping $28 Made them with a dowel sewn into each end and elastic loop on each corner...installed hooks on coach...I can install in 2 minutes without a ladder. No sags and they look better than some commercial ones I have seen.

RE: Mandalay?

There is a Mandalay user Forum on Yahoo where you can learn what has been going on at Thor/Mandalay/Four Winds... Long Story Short, they are considering shutting (perhaps temporarily) the Thor Mandalay Plant and having the Four Winds Division of Thor make the diesels... Mandalay makes a very fine product with a lot of bang for the buck but in the last two years they moved the product line toward larger tag axle models and as a result I think they only appealed to a smaller market segment. This has caused them some problems....I think they need to get Mandalay back to its original roots when they restart the Mandalay Division.

RE: RV Friendly Train Watching Locations

If you find yourself near Sheridan Wy, you could park your motorhome for an hour across the street from the Sheridan Inn.. There is a 4-8-4 parked there on display by the RR crossing....The Coal trains go by all day long and use the same track in both directions so there is a lot of backing up into sidings right there...fun to watch.

RE: From Florida, Yellowstone or Yosemite?

It depends on when you go....We wanted to get past Utah before the hot weather and we left in late May.... We went across I-10 to TX then to LBJ Ranch and George Bush Library then to AZ and visited Tombstone and Cottonwood/Sedona area then up to Lake Powell and across to Kanab Utah to visit Dogtown and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon...then to Zion....I just cant wait to return to Utah, what amazing scenery. Lots to see in all those places...go to bureau of tourism website for each state and they will send you maps and guides free. Dont Miss RT 12 in Utah from Bryce to Torrey and Capitol Reef NP....great scenic drive and park.

RE: From Florida, Yellowstone or Yosemite?

We did that trip this summer....I agree Utah is spectacular From Utah up into Idaho and Jackson Hole and the Tetons, then up to West Yellowstone...You should plan at least 7 nights there...From there to Cody Wy then Little Big Horn... Next Sheridan Wy then onto Devils Tower...a mystical place that we loved. After that to the Black Hills and you will need at least 5 night there...A lot to see: Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park, and do not miss Bear Country USA. We continued on along a northern route to New England, but we had 4 months...great trip

RE: What's a fair price to wash and wax an RV?

The detailers here get 10 dollars/foot.... I prefer to do it myself.....Wash including roof with long handle brush takes less than 2 hours..... I Wax with Protect All in less than 5 hours...I do this twice a year. When on the road, it takes me about an hour to wax front and basement which I do as needed. When you do it often, it takes much less time.

RE: Traveling Utah

We loved the adventure thru Rt 12....Utah was the most breathtaking of 25 states we visited or passed thru this summer....and Rt 12 was at the top of the list along with Bryce Canyon.... Can't wait to do it again....I video taped the dropoffs and turns while Chuck Berry sang Johnny B Goode on XM in the background..it was a real high

RE: I-76 PA or I-78 PA

I was on 78 last month and had no problems....Also 80 to 287 to 78 is preferable to NJ TPK to PA TPK in my book.

RE: Safe T Plus

I installed SafeTPlus myself in about an hour....Had to drive rig once and make slight adjustment....been great for 2 years now....$900 is ridiculous. I paid around $500 for the unit.
